I have been taking Adalat Retard for my Raynauds for about 2years with no side effects. Last week I went to my rheumatologist I told her I was having a lot of pain in 3 of my fingers on my right hand she changed my medication from Adalat to Idipine MR 20 , since taking them I'm experiencing bad headaches. Is anyone else on this medication? Will the headache go away .

TIA

Enjoy the sun today 😊

Headache's are a common side effect of calcium channel blockers. Each of us will react differently to each brand - I get no effects from adalat la but had to stop coracten xl at a lower dose. Maybe you just don't get on with it. Sometimes the side effects pass once body is used to drug sometimes they don't due to complex stuff to do with how your liver metabolises the drug cyp pathway's & all that. Best give it time and chat with pharmacist.

Years ago when I tried Adalat my heart pounded until it would make me sick. I believe any med that tries to increase blood flow causes headaches because Scleroderma is very vascular.
