I was looking at Simethicone and whether that or Deflatine would help me. I’ve got afib and on regular medication (flec and bisoprolol) and wondering if this OTC gas relief gel/tablets would interact with my medication or indeed cause palpitations please. Thanks in advance.

Gaviscon soothes, licorice tablets, peppermint oil, an anti flatulent medicine called Simethicone helps with bloating and gas. I would suggest that any Afibbers who find they belch a lot or feel gassy, concentrate on quietening digestion and you may find that Afib is less frequent.

So as a new thing, I started taking simethicone for gas when this happened. I didn't have any episodes after I started this, and I went to my appointment.

I got there at 6:30am, swallowed the pillcam at 8:10am with 0.6g simethicone, was fitted with patches, records for 8 hours so it will end around 3:30-4pm. I have a paper to note “eating, drinking, and unusual sensations.”

I am having such a gurgling and growling digestive system and nothing like low fodmap, peppermint or simethicone seem to ease it. I thought that I should give Buscopan another go (just hope I don’t get the numb fingertips again!) and wonder if anyone has used it to settle their gurgling guts?

I don’t like Buscopan as it can cause constipation & I’m IBS-C , has anyone tried activated charcoal or Rennie Deflatine or simethicone? Any help would be really appreciated, Thanks 😊

Has anyone here tried Simeticone to help with their hypothyroid symptoms? Tried Wind-eze with Simethicone which helps. Also tried slow breathing. No confidence now to even go for a short walk due to stress causing palpitations etc. Been stressful all my life-had AF 15 yrs ago took ages to get over it worrying about recurrence etc.

Yesterday I bought some simethicone a BF d in the afternoon took one as I was having flutters after lunch and it calmed down about 80% within about 15 minutes.

This can be dealt with by simethicone capsules or Bean-O... Cujoe suggested buying a dog and blaming the gas attack on the dog, but I think that is too unfair to the dog... Any questions?? Don Pescado

I've tried: Buscopan Peppermint oil Peppermint tea Simethicone Acidophilus Nothing seems to work. Doctor's told me there's not a pill that will fix this & to increase my activity. He's referred me back to gastro now. I've had to give up my job cause I cannot deal.
