Hi, everyone,
I was just informed my tumor tested positive for a mutation ( good news). I will be on Lynparza and Avastin after 2 more chemotherapy infusions. What have your experiences been on either or both of these medications?
Thanks 😊

I was on both - different times. The Avastin had to be stopped b/c it gave me severe nose bleeds but I took it in combination with chemo. It might not be bad after chemo. Lynparza caused breathing issues so we stopped it for a week then started back on a lower dose then slowly increased to to 600mg per day. No problems but after 9 months it quit working. It did work for my friend however!!! Good luck!!
Hi. You have a very aggressive treatment plan with first HIPEC and now this maintenance combo. It’s pretty new to have a PARP after frontline. I’m on Lynparza for maintenance after first recurrence. I’ve been on it five months. It’s way better than chemo! I’m only on 400 mg a day and I get quite tired. In the beginning I took zofran for nausea every day and I had joint pains. Avastin can give joint pains too. Good luck!
I have been on Lynparza for a year. I originally was put on 600 mg but was lowered to 400 per day due to nausea. I'm fine on 400, however, the longer you take it the more side affects start to show. Nothing major like chemo, but hair thinning, joint pain, neuropathy and fatigue. A little nausea at times but controlled with zofron if necessary. The worst for me is the joint pain, however, I'm 67 so age may also contribute. Good luck.
I am on Lyparza/1.5 years now/BRCA 2/Stage 3.
Other than fatigue at the end of the day, I have experienced NO significant side effects from Lynparza. It is important to stay hydrated and active while taking this drug. Folks say it is a "miracle drug" and I am a heavy believer. Good luck.
How funny I am 9667. My name is Debi. I was diagnosed when my CA 125 was 9,967. Yes, you heard that right. After 6 chemos, a full hysterectomy, and 1.5 years on Lynparza, my CA 125 holds steady at 12. Monthly blood tests have been great. I am first line maintenance, no recurrence, when I was given Lynparza.
Happy to offer any help or guidance that you need. Is it safe to put our personal emails on this site?
Hello everybody,
Let me start off by saying that I found this site in a desperate time in my life. About a month ago I took my wife to the ER after seeing a small bulge protruding from her navel. She has been experiencing some symptoms like bloating, heartburn, and fullness for several months but she thought nothing of it. A CT scan revealed a mass 11cmx11cmx9cm. Ca125 was 203. And the bulge turned out to be a hernia. She was referred to a gynecologist oncologist who said it was a large tumor but he doesn’t know what it’s connected to because the tumor is obstructing the CT’s view of the right ovary and pushing the uterus to the side. And will not know if it’s cancerous until they remove the tumor and do a biopsy. She’s scheduled for surgery on October 14. I have been reading as much as I can to help me make sense of this all. Sometimes the info I find scares the hell out of me and other times It gives me hope. But one thing I learned from these posts is that if it is OC, it can be beat. Thank you ladies for sharing your stories, it has given me hope. And I truly admire your strength and the ferocity in your fight. I truly believe that women are so much stronger than men in so many ways.
