Lynparza
I’ve been on Lynparza 150 mg. since May 2019. Outside of having low CBC, white blood count and creatine numbers I’m doing well. Energy level is good, but I do get a little tired in the afternoons. I think the only noticeable side effects are increased blood pressure, constipation and oddly some weight gain. All things that I can manage. Stay positive.
I finished my first round of chemo on 9/7. I am BRCA 1 positive which has a good response to lynparza. My oncologist started me on 300 mg 2x a day in October. I was queasy for the first several weeks and I was cut down to 200 mg 2x a day. Since then the only side affects I've had are a little fatigue (still able to work out every morning). I'm 67. My nurse practitioner said not to worry about cutting back on the dosage. So far my numbers and tests have been good. I hope it keeps working for all of us.
My story is the same as yours ovarian cancer complete hysterectomy stage III took out my omentum part of my stomach part of my rectum had 12 chemotherapies everything was fine for a year and a half flew through it with no problem then my cancer came back in my stomachMore surgery I had six more Chemos with Doxil and Carboplatin, now I am on Zejula
Age 66 BRCA 2 positive. Been on Lynparza for 1 year now. Doing REALLY WELL!!!
They say it is a miracle drug and I am a believer!! Expensive, but worth it.
I started Lynparza in January of this year as first line maintenance therapy after 6 carboplatin/taxol treatments completed in November 2019. 300 mg twice a day. 61 years old, BRCA1+, primary peritoneal cancer (salpingo-oopherectomy and hysterectomy done in 2010). Minor issues with nausea for first few weeks, manageable with compazine but now completely gone. Some ongoing issues with red blood counts but white blood cell counts are normal. A little bit of fatigue but not serious.
CA-125 has continued to drop slightly since starting the Lynparza but it has always been in normal range, even at time of diagnosis. My oncologist suspected there was some residual disease at end of chemo but no scans were done at that point.
I’m incredibly grateful to be eligible for this amazing drug.
I’ve been on Lynparza for about 6 weeks. Aside from fatigue, I am doing well. Tried Zejula first, but it caused severe, relentless depression.
I have been gaining weight, which is unusual for me. Hadn’t thought it might be from Lynparza. I take 300mg. A day. Even though it’s not the maximum dose, I am told it is still therapeutic.
