Hello. My name is Carole. Was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3C , 4 years ago. Did hysterectomy plus 6 cycles of Carbo/taxol. Continued with Avastin but had recurrence after 9 months. Switched to hormonal therapy (femara 2.5 mg) and been on it for almost 3 years. Has many side effects, joint pain, and loss of. One density and most of all my hair has thinned so much it’s crazy! If it continues like this, I will lose most of my hair. Anyone experienced anything like this? And any solution to that??? It’s devastating

I am so sorry you are going through all this now. Are you taking biotin? I also got keranique hair products too. Taking vitamin B complex too. Chemo knocked my thyroid out. Still having problems losing some hair. Have you had your thyroid checked lately? Took claritin for bone pain. Now just motrin 800.

I have been taking letrozole 2.5 mg for over two years. The only side effect I really have is very soft fingernails. I have read the different brands of femara can affect people differently. Maybe you want to ask your doctor about that. Good luck with your treatment.

Oncologists don’t really take this hairloss issue seriously. They don’t know that it can affect us badly. He said that femara is the one for me and he won’t change it since it’s still working.

Thank u for replying. Yes I am taking biotin and vitamin B12 and it doesn’t seem to be helping. No issues with the thyroid. I just feel that the femara is causing this bad hair loss.

Carcoura, have your thyroid checked again. You could be borderline and actually have a subclinical case of hypothyroidism. There has long been disagreement within the endocrinology community as to proper "normal" levels. Go to a specialist and get a second opinion.
