Feeling a little scared

Hi Everyone, I just found out that my CA125 doubled and my gyn/onc has me scheduled for a cat scan and will start me on a 5th different chemo, Pemetrexed next Thursday. I was diagnosed with stage 3c high grade serous ovarian cancer on 1/15/16. I had 3 cycles carboplatin/taxol, optimal debulking surgery in May 2016, and 3 more rounds of carboplatin/taxol and was declared NED in October 2016. I recurred in March 2017 making me platinum resistant as well as BRACA negative and tumor testing showed no folate receptors. I have been on the following chemos which worked for awhile and then the cancer starts to slowly grow. Taxol/Avastin, Doxil, Gemzar, and now onto Pemetrexed. Each time it seems to be a shorter time before I start feeling signs that the cancer is growing. I am staying positive but feeling like I wish I could do more to fight this. Has anyone else gone through this many chemos and still doing ok? Please let me know. I am not ready to stop fighting. My doctor is great and she told me she has more treatments to try. I do not qualify for many of the current trials. Love to all of you who are fighting this fight with me.

I have overian cancer stage 111. Was diagnosed in October if 2017. My cancer marker was 4580. After 4 rounds of chemo. My level is 9. I am also taking CBD oil. I believe all of this has been beneficial. I have 2 more rounds to go. Feeling positive. My faith is strong.

Stay positive

Hello - I have wanted to try CBD oil. Would you mind sharing the brand you use? There is so much information out there I just get overwhelmed.

Thank you

Dear Joy, Be careful with that stuff! If you are taking chemo that says "don't eat grapefruit," CBD oil uses the same liver ensymes. Also, I developed pancreatitis from CBD oil resins; apparently it's rare, but it happens. Best of luck!

Dear Mamaw, Im glad you are feeling better! I felt so decent on CBD oil, but I developed chronic pancreatitis from it. It's rare, but the resins from CBD built up in my pancreas and now I can't tolerate 1 drop of it! I can't eat regular foods any more. Also, if you are on a chemo that doesn't tolerate grapefruit, the same is true for CBD oil. It uses the same liver ensymes as grapefruit. So, it might be a good idea to check with your oncologist! Best wishes! 💖Margaret

Check it out with you onc. If you're going back on chemo, CBD oil uses the same ensymes as grapefruit. My CA125 went up.
