Diagnosed 3 years ago had surgery and chemo, was fine till this month. A lymph node in my chest and 2 in my pelvis are cancerous. They would like me to decide whether to have chemo and surgery or just chemo and decide between 2 chemos. Any insight?

Jtbaart, I am a breast cancer and ovarian cancer survivor. Personally, if you can cut out tumors surgically and follow with chemo I strongly advise that approach. Both of my surgeons and hundreds of peer reviewed studies support this approach. You can PM me for more information. Tesla

I found with My large mass in my pelvic area that surgery and chemo was the best way to go. Let them treat it aggressively from the beginning

From all I have been reading I would take surgery if it was offered. I have a recurrence but it has not been offered but would certainly take it if it was-I think they muttered something about disturbing the cancer cells but am going to ask more.

When I recurred, I was a good candidate for a second debulking surgery. It was followed with 6 cycles of carbo/gemzar. I've been NED since November 2008. There is no way to know for sure if I would still be NED if I had only had chemo. In the end, it's a personal decision based upon your own situation. Best wishes....

Thanks for posting about this. I just had a recurrence after a year. He said the places where it's located are too deep for surgery and the thing people do is chemo. I wondered about that. I am on Doxil 1x a month, started August 10. I appreciated your positiveness. I do that too! Thanks for posting!
