Hi everyone, I am 54 years old and I was diagnosed on 1/15/16 with stage 3c high grade serous ovarian cancer. I had 3 rounds of chemo, surgery, followed by 4 additional rounds. After the 2nd chemo I had 2 heart attacks. Scans in 10/16 showed no evidence of cancer. I have my 6 month check on 3/17/17 and had a cat scan, a pelvic exam and blood work last week because of pain and pressure in the pelvic area. My CA125 has risen from 9 in December to 61 and the nurse practitioner felt something during my exam. I tend to think I have a recurrence and will find out Friday. I am a teacher of little children and love my job and don't want to have to leave again but know I will need to do anything I need to do to win this battle. Reading all of your posts have helped me. Thanks

I'm new here...
Hi Kimmyp. I'm sorry that you were diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but I'm glad you found us here. I'll be thinking of you Friday as go to your next appointment. I'm also a Stage 3C and I did have a recurrence, but have been cancer free since Nov 2008. Here's to hoping that if you are recurring you have a similar outcome. Best wishses - Gwen
I have stage 3c clear cell ovarian cancer I was diagnosed in April 2014, numerous surgeries for debulking, removal of cancer mass and hernias. I have appointments this week too, and will be thinking of you. I have been having some mild pain and have scans scheduled. My ca125 is low but doc says it's only an indicator, doesn't mean you're cancer isn't somewhere else. I too am nervous, but will do what needs to be done. I wish you love, strength, and success on this journey. You have friends. God bless.Liz.
Hi Liz, I am sorry to hear that your doctor wasn't that nice. We will get through what we need to. I am nervous too. I hate waiting once I know they probably have the results. Good luck with your appointments. Thanks so much for replying to me. Please let me know how your appointments go. God bless you too. Kim
I'm 54 and had high grade fallopian tube cancer (classified as ovarian cancer) that went to my bladder and cells were found in my pelvic washings during my staging surgery in 02/2016. I have been NED since 07/2016 but my CA125 has steadily gone from 10 after the surgeries to 17 and I'm worried my cancer is back. I understand your anxiety. I see my oncologist today for my usual check up. I'm hoping he doesn't think this steady rise from 10 to now 17 is an issue. I will keep on contact with you to see what you have found out regarding your increase in numbers. Let's pray it's just because the CA125 isn't an accurate test and gives false numbers alot. I will be thinking about you!
Hello kimmyp! Sounds like you've been through quite an ordeal. You're a fighter. The angels are around you and they know we need great teachers who love their students. I hope your next diagnosis is okay. Angels say you're not finished yet, your students will get you back even if you have more treatments coming, never give up the fight. Prayers and thoughts are on the way to you.
