Hi everyone. My onc switched me off ibrance and Exemastane bc initial breast tumor is growing and has become resistant to these meds. I knew like all of us here that first line of treatment would end sometime (almost 4 years) but I’m really nervous about this new normal I’m entering into with 3 week treatments of Herceptin and Perjeta and eventually monthly Faslodex shots. I’ve read a lot of past posts - such great advice here, I don’t know what I’d do without you all- but I am looking for advice on what to expect with these 3 combinations . How did you feel/ symptoms etc. I know everyone is different but I have never slowed down since my diagnosis in 2020 still work full time intense job with international travel- and now I’m worried this is about to totally upend my life. Work keeps me sane. Also I have a consultation with a surgeon soon to cut this thing out of me since other mets are quiet now. Thanks for letting me vent. I am kind of shocked that this has happened and I don’t know why it’s hitting me so hard like my mind just caught up with my reality. Hugs love and strength to all of you. Cancer is not for sissies that’s for sure.

I'm not familiar with the meds you were taking before, but here is my experience. Mastectomy for in situ in 2018, only follow-up was regular exams and mammos. Diagnosed with MBC in 2020, 12 weeks of Taxol, with Herceptin, perjeta, and zometa. continued last 3 ever since. I was 74 at that time, retired, have had fatigue ever since. Onc. thinks I am not active enough, but every time I start to feel better, something happens to set me back. Also have digestive problems that might be linked to Perjeta, getting tested for food sensitivity. Some of my problems are probably because of my age, plus I have never been athletic so it's easy to fall into inactivity.
