Pet Ct Findings

Hi everyone,

I have been on Xeloda for 6 months and my PET CT showed improvement in liver and bones. But it showed the endometrium thickness 20mm and some problem with kidneys called hydrouretorenephrosis. I am going through so many tests now and am very nervous. I was also on Tamoxifen before Xeloda for three months. Xeloda is my fifth line of treatment over 2.5 years.

Does anyone have this? I am so upset and very nervous.

Thank you

Marina.

My cancer is in many if the places yours has spread . I honestly forget I’ve you mentioned your hormone receptors or no. My mother in law just died this afternoon and to say the least , it has been overly hectic.

The new drug just release two weeks ago is probably not advertised yet. But it is for estrogen positive , and low HER2 , meaning a 1 or 2. Look on NIH site or possibly PUB Med. Let me know and when we recover next week I’ll see if I have study saved. So sorry.

So sorry you are worried. Take a deep breath and try to relax. The Tamoxfin definitely causes thickening of the utrerus walls. It has stopped because I was put on a lower dose of 5mgs twice a day. A study was done by the drug company and they found it just to be as effective.

Cheers, June S.

Hi June, Thank you. I do not remember my dose but I was on it for three months Jul to September and was put on Xeloda since Осtober. Could it have caused it for a such short period of time and not go away. Best

How are you tolerating Xeloda? I will be starting this after Taxol and Ibrance has failed.

Cureforever in reply totheresac1

I am on a low dose 1500 mg. Higher dose caused liver problems. I am ok, having weakness. I just had two surgeries and am off Xeloda now. Hope you will tolerate it fine but starting from the lower dose is easier. Good luck

For how long were you on it until it happened. I have been on it for three months only.

I was on it about 3 months with surgery in between. I should have stayed on it for another 3 months to see how it worked.

Cheers, June S.

Dear Marina, I was treated for primary breast cancer in 2003 and that was followed up in those days by 5 years of Tamoxifen as standard. I had the same thickening and it could only have been caused by Tamoxifen because I was on no other medication. I wish you all the best

Thanks but I was on it for only three monthsBest

whenever I'm concerned about my CT results, I first ask my oncologist, who needs to know my health concerns, and if it's related to my cancer, will have more information. If not, he will recommend that I contact my internist (GP, PCP)

Oh Marina. I know that's not the news you expected. We never know what a scan will show. So stressful Sounds like your onc is on top of it and will figure out a treatment. I'm praying for you for a new successful treatment.

I hope I wouldn’t need a new treatment. This one is working. Thank youBest

Fingers crossed it works out. It’s so frustrating when something is working and other things crop up, but ask the question but I guess we ultimately need to trust our onc.Wishing you well!

Yes I have endometrial thickness and omentum thickness. Hard to eat a lot. This afternoon I ate a ridiculous/amount of food. I got such bad stomach pains . No idea why I did that! But what has been coming back up on me all afternoon and evening were potatoes which had cream !!

Hi. Thanks for sharing. Are they doing something with the endometrium thickness?

blms profile image
blms

Not particularly. I know I tried to eat a huge meal yesterday afternoon and had so much stomach pressure that it’s nuts!Small meals more often but so hard to do!

Just nit enough expansion for organs to move and then affects breathing.
