Just trying to give some hope to others. My history---Inflammatory Breast Cancer diagnosed in February of 2002. Chemo, surgery, radiation. Mets diagnosed in May of 2020 after full week in intensive care to clean up my lungs. Now on Verzenio, Zometa, Faslodex, Enocrit. Went for a CT Scan last Friday. Results in my account almost immediately, and also given to me by my onc on Monday. This was my best CT report EVER. Everything has either shrunk or is GONE. Almost everything is clear. What terrific news. Unfortunately, the yucky drug routine will continue, but at least we know it is working.
Best to all. Enjoy the weekend.

What has your experience with verzenio? My doc wants me on that after taxol instead of ibrance and I am not sure why she cares about the difference they are sister drugs.
Well, I started on Ibrance a couple of years ago when it was first out. I am not even sure why I let my oncologist do it, since I had no symptoms and no bad scans at that time. It really knocked me out and we left it behind after just a few weeks.
This time, I had serious symptoms and mets all over when we decided on the Verzenio. It was terrible for a few weeks---daily really bad diarrhea. I had to take a pill for it every day. After awhile, I sort of got used to it and the suddenly, BAM, it went away! Now, I am really tired from the Verzenio as it hits both my whites and my reds. I also have very numb hands and feet, no sense of taste, and constantly crying eyes. BUT, with scans like that, I am not going to complain. I took a two week break last month, and the symptoms eased a bit, so the Verzenio is obviously the cause. I went right back on it though. I can take the side effects, in exchange for my longer survival.
Good luck with it, and always come back to the list if you need some encouragement along the way.
Hi Anne, My docs said that t he diarrhea was supposed to last only 1 week and be the second week on. But, with that said, after I will be having taxol, my body will be beat up, so I expect that will be more difficult with added side effects. Was that your protocol ?
My big issue at this point is maintaining my weight! Not easy as cancer is eating away at my fat. I eat all day long even when not hungry. UGH! If I have a lot of diarrhea I will be under 100 lbs! Don't think I can safely do that.
I am so stressed and worried about the taxol as my first go around I VERY came close to death one night in hospital that they did not expect me to last until morning. I should feel good about it as that was 23 years ago and I was without cancer spread for 20 years after that. But, i am old now and much weaker. I expect that once I get into a pattern, I will be much better emotionally than now.
