Has anybody ever used immunotherapy? I really don't know much about it but was wondering. Maybe it's not even used for breast cancer.

Probably in 20 years!!

I have my negative hat on today...I was told 24 years ago by my then oncologist that there would be a cure before my small daughters grew up..now they’re 30 and 26....still no sign of a cure

Well have to make do with new meds coming out to keep us going for a long long time hopefully

I’m just being a realist

Barb, I truly believe there could be a cure at least for some cancers. They're meeting too much money this way.

I think my trial was immunotherapy. It addressed a specific FGFR mutation amplification. It was a tough month, got sick a lot and it did not work.

I am so sorry. But thank you very much for being part of a trial. It is only through trials that we can move forward in new research.

I’m on a clinical trial with a immunotherapy drug called Tecentriq and a PARP inhibitor called Lynparza. I’m eligible for the trial because I’m BRCA positive. Tecentriq and the chemo Abraxane are now standard of care for triple negative cancers expressing PDL1. Ive had few side effects and my triple negative skin mets have mostly cleared up. My ER+ liver and bone mets are stable (have grown slightly) but I’m only 6 weeks into the trial, so it’s too soon to tell. The docs say that those with autoimmune disorders don’t do well on Tecentriq, but others do very well in terms of side effects.

My Oncologist said they do immunotherapy but that they dont have a protocol for MBC yet. My medical group is tied to the University of South Alabama and is on the cutting edge of research. My doctor said they are very close to a vaccine and feels that cancer treatments will continue changing to have less harsh side effects. Our cure is coming!
