I have never heard of this 'supplement' but this research article suggests it helped an Indonesian man suffering RLS because of kidney disease.

As only one person is mentioned in the trial, it's not ideal, but as we know, if you are desperate and nothing else has worked, it's good to know of something positive.

It is a herb widely used in Korean medicine.

Another possibility in the RLS arsenal.

I wonder if anyone has tried it.

Is it good for gout? My RLS seems (👉🏻 🪵) to be under control, but my latest affliction is a pain in the toe.. But seriously, interesting

I'm not sure Chris, but it may be worth investigating.

No idea. I would imagine the Chinese herbal shops may know.

Another tool in the box but probably won't do a lot if people are still eating processed foods which feed the bad bacteria and starve the good bacteria.

hello Eryl. I have seen your posts before and am interested in what you say Since being widowed l have to admit that l often take the easy way out when it comes to cooking. Would you mind very much giving me day by day menu of what you eat for each meal. Thank you in advance and best wishes

I have stopped eating breakfast (on a keto diet hunger pangs weaken). Lunch will be a couple of rashers of bacon, a portion of baked beans or a good sized bowl of home made vegetable soup both with a bowl of salad, Once a week I'll have tuna mayonaise (I used to have it with a baked potato but I've stopped that now) and a bowl of salad. Evening meal will be a veg stir fry (with plenty of leafy green veg) with chickenYum paste lime juice and soy sauce, or a three egg mushroom and spring onion omlette with portions of spinach and garden peas. A veg stir fry with mackerel instead of chicken. once a week I'll have a home made Indian curry with ckicken and chikc peas and once a week I'll have fish with a couple of portions of some veg or other. Desert wi be a couple of brasil nuts and half a dozen wallnut halves, a handfull of pistacios and one square of dark chocolate.

Thank you Eryl l found that very interesting. I am a vegetarian and dislike curry so couldn’t follow all. I do have fish twice weekly and have been eating plenty of salad with half jacket potato. I always have wholgrain jumbo oats for breakfast ( no sugar ) and never eat white bread or in fact much bread of any sort. I don’t think my diet is too bad but I’ll definitely have a look at some of the things you eat

Eryl, has eating this way stopped your RLS completely would you say? I fast for 18 hours a day, and eat a lot of salads, but no improvement in my rls.

Eryl in reply toGmc54

Not the time restricted eating, but the rls had stopped when I stopped eating inflammatory foods.

Thank you. I'll give it a try. Did you find it worked quite quickly after adopting this way of eating?

Eryl in reply toGmc54

Yes, there was a reduction awithin a day but I had not identified all the causes of my inflammation so it took afew months to eliminate it completely. Interestingly after six six months I noticed an improvement in my breathing, a flatter stomach and I lost half a stone in weight.

Not easy to find. Use the alternative names Shakuyakukanzoto or Peony licorice.

Seems to be peony and liquorice. Yes I have heard of people recommending peony for RLS. I didn’t notice any difference but thanks for heads up, it’s always worth trying things at different points in time.
