Thanks Amrob. I contacted the authors about this article as I wanted to know if they're conducting any trials. One of the authors wrote back and suggested the lead writer would contact me.
If they can trial these drugs, it would be a really positive step.
thanks Amrob, I appreciate all additional information like this. Especially as what works for one may not work for another or what worked once doesn't work anymore. There may be something in there that can help, if not now, then in the future.
Just here to say, I am still taking Dipyridamole with great success. I still have a little RLS at night when I get in bed, but it goes away after a few minutes. Some nights it is gone completely. I have also had good results with Iron (Ferrous Bisglysinate) and Vitamin D.
Sorry I can't give you sufficient info. on Carbamazepine at present. I could not find any info. on it when it was first prescribed to me by my consultant who assured me that he had success with it with some patients. I didn't know if it was a Dopamine Agent and couldn't get info. on it (because of trouble with computer) I .have now been assured by my surgery's pharmacist that it is not a D.A so my fear of Augmentation has been removed. I started with 100mg of Carbamazepine morning and night with a slight improvement in RSL .I have yet to gradually increase it to 200mg AM and PM. hoping for a greater improvement in RLS The maximum dosage recommended is 300 mg which I hope will be unnecessary for me. I will keep you informed if any improvement is made with increased dosage Good luck with your medication.
If you end up at the maximum dose and still do not get sufficient relief, I would go back on the pregabalin as I advised before because you were not at the highest dose and if it works, it can completely control your RLS not just help.
