RLS getting worse, is it my other medications?

Interested in possible connection between RLS and pelvic pain. Also my RLS medication doesn't seem to be working as well as it used to, could it be because of my HRT patch?

What meds are you on? If you're on a dopamine agonist then it's possible you getting augmentation.

There are good articles on these two sites about meds that are antagonists for rls.

rlsuk rlshelp.org

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Read the articles you mentioned and will speak with my GP although RLS isn't widely known about so don't expect too much help! Have been on Ropinirole for 9 years and am on the highest dosage prescribed so maybe I need to try something else?

Will let you know!

I agree with Madlegs we need to know which med you are taking for your RLS and any other meds you are on. I don't know of any connection between pelvic pain. and RLS but I am sure if you Google the 2 some article will come up. In fact, have come to the conclusion that if you Google RLS and virtually anything a link would be found somewhere. Hmm think I will put that theory to the test and Google RLS and some random thing maybe RLS and ingrown toenail. Sorry I am getting off track here,!

As for the HRT it is not on the meds to avoid list. In fact, have read many cases where women say there legs got worse with the menopause and improved when they started on HRT.

Until we know if you are takinga dopamine agonists med we can't rule out augmentation.

Being on HRT tells me you are a lady of a certain age (as I am too ) so there may be some natural progression too Will await your reply. .Pipps x

Thanks for your reply. I am taking the maximum dosage of Ropinirole and find it only lasts until around 5-6 am so that's when I have to get up and move around. If my feet/ legs get cold that can trigger it off so I am a lover of warm baths, fires, electric blankets and good old fashioned hot water bottles, but am sorely sleep deprived. Dread flying so make sure I have my meds on hand!

Will see what the doc says!

Hmmmm so what is your Ropinerole dose per day? Augmentation is now highly likely to be the problem. X

4mgs. I space them out over the day, morning- 1mg, afternoon-1mg, evening-2mgs, all after food so no nausea. I wear an HRT patch- Evorel 50 , take levothyroxine for under active thyroid and am trying oxybutynin for over active bladder! Think I will rattle if I take any more!

Hope this info helps.

Brenda your other meds look ok nothing there that should worsen RLS but WOW on your 4mg of Ropinerole . Are you familiar with augmentation? Did you have to keep increasing your dose of Ropinerole? Have your RLS symptoms started up earlier in the day? Is it happening after shorter periods of rest and relaxation? Has it stopped working so well at night? Has it ever spread into other body parts most commonly the arms? These are signs of augmentation. Due to augmentation occurring from the Dopamine Agonists (such as Ropinerole ) the experts are now recommending that you take only 1 mg of Ropinerole per day 2mg at the absolute tops. If you go to the website

rls-uk.org you will see a video on there about augmentation by a world leader in RLS I would suggest you take a look and think about the signs I have mentioned and then get back to us. .Pipps x
