info on anti nausea drugs

I am getting a lot of nausea and some sickness now with my chemo and my legs have been driving me mad. I haven’t yet got the Neupro patches so am still on Ropinerole. Can you advise me which anti nausea drugs are bad for RLS? And which are best? I have a severe allergy to Metoclopramide. They have given me Domperidone , Ondansetrn and Aprepitant. also some Dexamethazone (steroids) for the two day a following chemo. I think they are supposed to help with the nausea. I have to admit I haven’t taken them as they keep me awake at night even if I take them in the morning and midday. Thank you.

Safe anti-nausea medicines are, Kytril (Sustol, Granisetron, Sancuso), Anzemet (Dolasetron), Zofran (ondansetron)

The Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist which will make RLS worse in most people. I think the Ondansetrn you mention is the ondansetron I mention as safe for RLS.

thank you Sue. It must be the Domperidone that has caused the problem. I will ask if that can be changed to one of the safe ones you mention. Thank you for your quick response!

I have had Zofran with no adverse effects on my RLS. It is commonly used in the NHS.Huge good luck with the chemo and hope you have a great outcome.x

yes thanks I do get given that one. I think it is the Domperidone that is the guilty culprit. I won’t take another one ever. Thank for your good wishes.
