There is a petition to keep kratom legal in Europe. Apparently several states are working towards illegality of kratom, even though it is currently legal in that state. As you may know, kratom can be very useful to treat severe and refractory RLS. It helped and still helps me. I currently treat my RLS quite successfully with a buprenorphine patch 5mcg/h, and only sometimes need something extra. I prefer kratom, as it has fewer side effects for me than extra buprenorphine. Also, it is my 'spare' treatment in case buprenorphine stops working or when in need of a reset.
It's illegal in the UK and the petition dors not have an option for United Kingdom or GB so I put my address and said I was in Jersey. Seemed to work.Sad that we do not appear anywhere on the list of world countries.
Every so often the US DEA tries to control this wonderful substance which now is only illegal in a few states. So far they have been unable to succeed because of blowback from those who recognize its great benefits. But be advised that there are many people in authority who feel that you don't own your own body and that politicians know better than you what you ought to be able to put in it. Remember that the Drug War harms society much more than it helps.
Thanks DoDah. What happens in the USA tends to arrive a few years later in the EU. Only sometimes the EU reacts differently, having learnt grom what went wrong. Apparently (see petition) people are vigilant here too.
I never heard of kratom before yesterday when someone suggested it to me to help me eliminate Ropinirol. I have no idea if it is legal in the US but it’s clear that the pharmaceutical companies are behind the EU ban. After all they’re not making any money when people find an effective natural remedy.
I think Kratom's legality is determined by tstate. I happen to live in Arizona where it is currently legal and is also legal in California. You can look on Amazon, it may tell you if your state disallows you to order it as I can get it on Amazon if I wanted. I looked into it but have not tried it yet.
