Kratom now not working

I have been using Kratom for a couple of months with great success for RLS at a dose of 1.5 teaspoons. Now it just doesn’t seem to be working and in fact the RLS seems worse. Any suggestions?

Hope someone can help you. There are so many places Kratom is illegal, not too many people on here taking that. I am from the US, and half the states it is illegal, and it is illegal in the UK, still, as far as I know. As far as Kratom and RLS, there are not too many who use it for another of reasons. I have studied it, decided it is not for me, so hopefully someone can help. Good luck

I have found Kratom very helpful but I think my dose did increase by a small amount when I was on it. I now need two teaspoons to cover symptoms. Unfortunately, I think some people develop tolerance more quickly than others. Is it possible you fall into that category?

If so you might need to alternate with another drug to reset receptors or add another drug (eg pregabalin) to help.

On the other hand maybe something is making your rls worse just at present. Are you taking any additional meds at the moment such as anti-histamines for example. Or have you changed your diet or have additional stress.

I hope you find a solution.

Yeah I had to increase my dose too. For my part the one increase lasted a long time and then I switched to prescribed drugs, (but the oul faithful is still there for when the prescribed ones stop working).

Where is a good place to obtain this from in the UK Raffs?x

in reply toJumpey

Jumpy its illegal in the UK. You would have to get it from outside the UK.

+1 on Elisse's post plus the fact that I sourced it for you would also be a crime!

All I can say is google is your friend.

I live in The Netherlands. Kratom is freely and legally available here. E.g. dekratomshop.nl.

Raffs, how long did your "long time" last before switching to prescribed drugs. I've been on 1 teaspoon of Kratom, for a month with good success, and just trying to get a feel for how long it might last.

I had to increase after about 5/6 months and that lasted another 5/6 months before I changed drugs. I was quite bad at the time not just with the intense pain and discomfort of RLS but also had pain issues in other areas of my body.

Hi, Ellen,

I don't think you're using enough.

Cut and pasted from a previous post of mine:

I'm getting 90% relief using powdered kratom leaf. It's available on the internet at eleven cents per gram when bought in bulk ($110 per kilogram). My favorite strain is "Red Borneo", although I rotate through 7 different strains, hoping that that will help to avoid tolerance building up. I'm using 8 grams per dose, two or three times per day. I mix each dose in a blender with 8 ounces of milk and a packet of Carnation "Breakfast Essentials" (aka "Instant Breakfast") which is also a powder. This concoction is needed (for me) to make palatable the kratom which is about as dry as chalk powder. Also I mix into each dose, one capsule (25mg) of iron bisglycinate ("comfort iron"), although many of the good people here recommend that the iron capsule be taken on an empty stomach and certainly not with milk!

If not for the kratom, I would move to Oregon where assisted suicide is legal! (Partially kidding--not sure how much!)

Return to this site often; the loving souls who write here are a great source of strength, courage, and solace.

NOTE WELL: Beginners should start with half the dose described above. I’ve settled with the 8-gram dose after nearly a year of efficacious use.
