Has anyone taken tyrosine and had any positive outcomes? I already take magnesium Iron and B12. I have recently added Omega 3 but when looking into Pramipexole and dopamine I came across Tyrosine. It seems you can literally buy a supplement for anything these days but wondering if its worth looking into. I havent taken the prescription for Pramipexole. Im sticking with the Gabapenten but Im taking 400mg in the evening and Ive stoppped taking any during the day. Im really glad I asked on here about the Pramipexole as I think the withdrawel would have broken me. I weaned myself off Tramadol and Amyltriptaline (separately) and that was brutal. I know as a community we are sometimes willing to try anything. However after stumbling across the post about the urine drinking for RLS I draw the line there.

Tyrosine
A lot of supplements are touted to be a "cure" for RLS.
The only ones I would take much notice of would be magnesium, and maybe iron. (Depending on a test)
However-- we are all individuals, with different make-ups and deficiencies.
So you could always try a course of one and see how it works for you.
I have a drawer full of wee bottles that are half used up. Still have RLS under all my medication.😣😏
Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
I’d try not to try too many things at once...you won’t be able to work out what’s helping.
Give your gabapentin time to get going, a month or so. I know it’s hard to be patient!
I sleep well most of the time on 300g gabapentin at about 10pm (I also take gentle iron every other day and daily B12.
Good luck
I have taken the Iron, magnesium and B12 for quite awhile now as I dont eat meat. The omega is a new one and although I sometimes eat fish I dont eat oily fish and I dont think I eat it enough so I am currently taking a vegan one as the normal one contains gelatin. Im not really holding out much hope for the Gabapenten as I have had it before about 3 years ago and it didnt do much other than make me drowsey. I also remember it increasing my depression symptoms but I will continue with it for a few months and see how we get on.
I'm with you on the urine drinking!
I've read of people trying tyrosine or other "dopamine boosters" before.
As I understand it RLS isn't necessarily due to a lack of dopamine, it's more associated with a dysfunction of dopamine receptor sites.
If that's the case, as I believe tyrosine is supposed to work by raising dopamine levels, it's not ultimately going to help, because it won't remedy the receptor site dysfunction.
Another aspect of this is that higher levels of dopamine can cause further receptor site dysfunction. This is possibly the cause of augmentation.
However, no harm in trying it and let us know.
