Poached eggs ??

I wonder if somebody could help me please,

How do you poach an egg ??

Because i am a hopeless case when it comes to poaching eggs, i can fry them

Are you supposed to keep eggs in a fridge like i do ??

I would be very greatfull for any imfo please

Hey Pete, poached eggs are like the healthy alternative to a fried egg.

Here's how it goes (the easy way);

1 x large flat pan (Like a frying pan)

Fill with water

Bring to boil

Crack egg into boiling water

Wait until all nice and white

Lift away any frothy bits of egg white

Once done, lift out using either a large spoon or better still use a slotted spoon

Pop onto your toast and add a little bit of salt and pepper, just as you would like

I always used to keep my eggs in the fridge, but then I read that when you buy them from the supermarket they are never in the fridge (which is true!)

When baking, they seem to recommend that you use eggs at room temperature, so take them out the fridge 10-15 minutes before

Thats exactly right Emjay I do just the same. When I worked in catering we used to keep eggs in the fridge. Get them out before using. To test if they are still fresh Pop egg into a pan of boiling water, if it floats to the top its no good.

Pete you can buy stainless steel rings , bit like biscuit cutters to pop in the pan of water and drop egg into that keeps it from spreading. thats if your fussy.
