Hello Freebuffalo9930 and welcome to Quit Support. It's never easy to quit but itโ€™s easier with a little support.

Well done for your 105 smoke free days. I wonder if your gp has ever smoked, been addicted to nicotine. The "official" time our bodies take to cleanse is 5 days but in reality itโ€™s just not possible to state how long it takes for us to feel better. We're all different with different lifestyles etc. Have you have been without nicotine for about 3ยฝ months or are you using some sort of NRT (nicotine replacement therapy)?

Nicotine is a very powerful, addictive drug, while we're using it, it can mask any underlying problems that we may have. When we stop, these, often unknown, conditions reveal themselves, so we may not feel better.

This is an older post which may help you. There are many more in our pinned posts.

hi there Freebuffalo9930 . . . I second what Tabbycat has said ๐Ÿ˜Š It can take time for your body to adjust from the effects of smoking but the benefits are great in time .im sure you will get there ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Š it might be worth checking with your gp or pharmacist if your feeling like this as theres lots of bugs and germs going around this time of year I remember one of the times I stopped smoking I ended up with abit of a chest infection and needed antibiotics and steroids. In time your body will adjust and get healthier .youve got this ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Šdont give in it can be hard quitting especially if you donโ€™t feel 100% one day at a time Remember .Let us no your progress there is someone always around or not far away if you need support take care ๐Ÿ˜Šoh and congratulations on your 105 days not smoking ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฅณ your doing amazingly youโ€™ve got this ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™Œxxxxx

Also i was told by an a&e doctor that i urgently needed a colonoscopy so i spoke to gp and he dismissed the urgency and did a routine referral instead even though a family member who has the same symptoms as me and she still smokes getting an emergency colonoscopy from the same doctor its absolutely ridiculous

Hi again Freebuffalo9930 you know we can't give any medical information because we're not qualified. We can however share our experience or that of other QS members.

I've never used any NRT but I've heard from a few members that Nicorette can cause unpleasant side effects. Here's just one example that I've found:

If you think that the spray could be a cause of your problems I suggest that you try another form of NRT ASAP. 3ยฝ months is a long time without any adjustment:)

EDIT:Another warning โš ๏ธ

hi Freebuffalo9930 I agree with Tabbycat again ๐Ÿ˜Š if you are using NRT they might not be suiting you everyone is different and has different experiences with these Some find it easier than others to pack in where others really struggle like Tabbycat stated we canโ€™t give any medical advice out to anyone but if your feeling that unwell I would suggest ringing 111 and discuss your symptoms with them maybe they can offer advice if your ill? Quitting smoking can make you have a lot of emotions it can make you anxious irritable teary abit of everything really ๐Ÿค” I think most of us went threw them all ๐Ÿ˜‚Take care and stay strong with your no smoking journey you will get there ๐Ÿ˜Šxxx

Hi Freebuffalo9930, Welcome to Quit Support. I see the girls have already welcomed you and given you some good advice. You say your using the Nicorette mist , which I know some members have struggled with in the past.

It might be worth changing your nrt. and trying an alternative. This link will take you to some of the choices you have. Look under the heading Nicotine Replacement.
