Hi carolinet, anxiety can be a common withdrawal symptom. Personally I'm lucky as I have never suffered but if you have a look at the pinned posts there's quite a lot of information about it. Just click on posts, then click on pinned posts.🌼💐xx
Hi Caroline I found out after quitting I was suffering from anxiety and depression. Smoking had masked it because I thought it made me feel better. I learned that wasnt the case but then I had to figure out what to do.
1. I came on here constantly I could always find someone who knew how I felt.
2. I downloaded insight timer app it is an great beginner's guide to mindfulness.
3. I ended up seeing my Dr. I Hate pills but I thought better pills to battle this instead of smoking.
Hi Caroline - I struggle with anxiety and previous times due to my anxiety, it stopped me from stopping due to a fear of my mental health getting worse. Previous times it did make it worse or so I believed. This time around my anxiety has been worse at times but probably jo worse than normal. I think in stressful times we would normally smoke, believing it gave is relief from our anxiety. I've been stopped nearly 8 months now. I used a vape to stop which I still use now on the lowest dose nicotine. I still have anxiety and I still get cravings, but I now don't like the smell of cigarettes (my husband still smokes) which puts me off even having on and I also fear how it would make me feel having one too.
