Hello, I'm on day 11 with Champix. Finding it hard to completely stop. Can I ask how others have gotten along/experience with Champix? Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Stickers, well done for your decision to quit.๐Ÿ‘

Welcome to Quit Support.๐Ÿ”ต

Personally I have never used Champix but watch this space as sooner or later someone will be able to help you.

I'll just remind you to drink plenty of water๐Ÿšฐ to flush out the toxins and keep yourself hydrated.

Good luck with your quit.๐Ÿ€๐Ÿšญxx

Hi ya Stickers and a big warm welcome to our Community :) and am just loving that your on your way to being smokefreeeeee :) :)

Now then gal, Champix :o I've used Champix and it worked well, but, I think it was just starting the third week when I stopped smoking :) sooo, please dont worry if your a bit late :)

The idea of Champix is that it numbs the nicotine receptors in your brain soooo, you dont think of it anymore :) and therefore dont want to smoke :) and it does work very well for most people as long as you stay with the full course :)

Good luck Sticky and please Stick to it :) :) x

Hi Stickers. I'm a couple of weeks in front of you and using champix too. I stopped on day 12. You have to pick your day and stick to it. It isn't easy but you have to want to do it. Then it's day by day from there. Pick your ways to deal with the Nico craving times. For me a bought apples (not a big fruit eater but actually loving them now) and chewies and keep busy. The first 2 weeks are hard. Be proud of yourself for not smoking for x amount of time when not craving and fight like hell when the craving hits again. Be strong and good luck

Matt

Oops didn't mean to post that lol ๐Ÿ™ˆ thanks Matt replying ๐Ÿ™‚. Reading your reply has motivated me some & lifted my spiritsโ˜บ๏ธ lol I've bought in some apples & pears, chewing gum, boiled sweets ๐Ÿ˜‰ I think I have a bug too which isn't helping my mood & determination tbh. I have managed to stop a couple of difficult habitual cigs so proud of that & now I feel ill so Champix seems to be working. I'm going to move all smoking equipment out, check what I need to work on next. Take each hour as it comes. Lol and stay away from people ๐Ÿคฃ have you had any sickness/ headaches?

Hi, I used Champix to stopโ˜บ๏ธ have you set an official quit date? After I set my date (2 weeks from starting taking it) I slowly cut down. I started with my morning cigarettes cutting down to 2 instead of 3 then not having any all day at work (we only get 1 half an hour break anyway so I would just drag my lunch out so I didn't have time) then I challenged myself after work by only having 1 then not having another until bed time, then just slowly cut down from there. My quit day came and went and I was still having 2 a day, then on the 8th December 2018I got up and I had none left so I decided that would be the day I quit, I never bought a pack again and carried on with champix until I felt confident enough in social situations not to take it anymore. I've been quit a year soon, you can do this! Champix really does work โ˜บ๏ธ just keep going!

Ah congratulations ๐Ÿ’ Almost a year, that's amazing! Well done ๐Ÿ™Œ thank you for sharing your experience with me. It really helps knowing it's possible. Thank you for your encouragement it really means a lot ๐Ÿ˜ I've found today a little easier than yesterday & so far only had 2. Just had dinner. Deep breaths ha ha. I'm on day 12, just realized missed this morning's ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฎ Official quit date is 18/11/19. Thank you again ๐Ÿ™‚

See that's an improvement already! I found breaking my routine helped as well and keeping busy, my house was cleaner than it had ever been ๐Ÿ˜‚ I also found setting myself a goal was a massive incentive for me. There was a really expensive handbag that I'd always wanted but could never justify buying, so I decided to put the money to one side that I would spend on cigarettes and use it to buy the handbag, when I'd been quit for 1 year as a little pat on the back โ˜บ๏ธ then whenever I got a craving I would think about the bag and how much I wanted it, I told myself if I caved then I would have to wait another year to buy the bag and it really worked! I now can't stand the smell of cigarettes and hate being around them! Keep your quit date in mind but don't put too much pressure on, you will quit its just having the confidence to let go!

Hi JRT91, as for some reason we don't have a lot of individual info about champix, may I add this reply to our pinned posts? Thanks.
