Hi everyone, hope we are all having a great evening. Just wanted to get peoples through son champix? I am currently using them for the second time and stop smoking on day 8 and have been smoke free for 9 days now. I am just at the start of the course really but know the last time I stoped after 4 weeks and found when I stoped taking the tablets I just went back to smoking how was it for anyone who has stopped using champix? Your stories would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sarmar87 and a big warm welcome to our quit support community
I used Champix a few years ago and it worked very well for me, maybe tooo well, cus I cut the course short and stopped taking it, about a week later, I was smoking again
Sooooo, the advice I would give to you and anybody else who is using Champix, is to take the FULL course please, cos its a very good form of NRT and works well with some of us
Please let us know your actual quit date, then we can keep track of your quit journey and you will have a Winners badge after your name, keep up the great work

Hi sarmar87, well done for your decision to quit. 👏It's never easy to quit but it's easier with a little support.💪
Welcome to Quit Support.💙
I'm afraid I can't help you about champix as I have never used it. But watch this space as sooner or later someone will be able to help you.
I suggest you read the pinned 📌posts there's lots of information there.
Remember to drink plenty of water🚰 to flush out the toxins and keep yourself hydrated.
Good luck with your quit.🍀🚭xx
Hi Sarmar.
I can't offer advice as I'm very much in the same situation as you. Tried them a couple of years ago with short term success.
Now I'm back on champix and on day 11 of no smoking.
From what I have read/heard, it is another BIG challenge to stay quit when the champix finishes. I agree with Monky, see through the full course. Then be ready to fight again. At least the champix side affects will be over. If you really want to quit, you should be ok. That's the way I'm approaching it this time round.
Good luck.
Matt
Hi sarmar I tried champex 10 years ago. I found it worked and I quit smoking
But it gave me horrible dreams so I stopped taking it after the second week and I started smoking again. 2 years later I tried zyban I took it for a month and it was so expensive I stopped after I used the trial pills my dr gave me. Once again I started smoking. This time I tried zyban again cause I was more financially stable. Once again by week two I had quit. But my moods were horrible. I was between depressed and angry most the time. I quit taking it after 3 weeks. But this time I managed to stay quit. Part of it is I guess I was finally ready. Other times I thought I was ready but I really wasn't.
So I think all the aids available to help you quit can help greatly if we are ready to give up smoking. Good luck 😊
Totally agree witty. When you're ready, you're ready. Previously I couldn't handle zyban and found champix better. My father in law had to stop champix due to nightmares and other side affects. I'm finding champix better this time than 2 years ago with less nausea and less nightmares but more lack of sleep. But I can handle the side affects if it helps the long term goal to quit properly.
