Hi all, I gave up smoking a few years ago and have vaped ever since. I have now gone cold Turkey but just cannot get the thought of vaping out my mind. I have great willpower but just want these thoughts and cravings to stop! Any tips?

Hi pompeylayd and welcome to Quit Support.

Well done for your cold turkey quit. Cravings are a part of this process but there are things you can do to help. Keep busy, try to change your routine around to avoid triggers.

If you have a look at the pinned posts there are lots of different ways to cope.

Mindfulness or meditation can help, also exercise can be great to distract yourself as well.

You’ve made a great decision, it’ll be tough for a little while, so hang in there💪

Lots of lovely people here to help take your mind off things. You can get through this and we’re all here to help.

We look forward to supporting you xx

Hi pompeylayd and a warm welcome.

Cold turkey can be very tough (it’s how I quit). Draw from your strong will power and try changing the way you view vaping. I assume you were using nicotine based oil which if that’s the case you will go through the same withdrawal process.

Accept that you will go through a roller coaster of emotions as part of becoming free from addiction. Maybe try NRT to help in the early days rather than the Vape.

You can so do this, make the commitment and have the determination to succeed to match it.

Good luck
