Hi. So, question please. I switched to vaping 34 days ago. Then last Friday I came away on holiday. Had a 14 hour flight and had just dropped to 0 mgs of nicotine the night before. As the flight was so long I though sod it, just quit vaping now. So, I am now on day 8 of not smoking/vaping. From what point do I take the health benefits? From switching from ciggies to e ciggies, or from stopping vaping. It is easier having done it this way, but...... it is not a complete walk in the park. When will it get easier!!!! I keep telling myself I have given up for over a month now, but..... it feels like it is day 8!!!!!

Candiceelaine, there are 2 sides to quitting. First there is overcoming nicotine addiction by purging your body of nicotine. Withdrawal symptoms are usually gone by 2 weeks from the last "dose" of nicotine. Secondly, & for me, the more difficult facet is breaking the habit. We have spent years conditioning our brain to react in certain situations to reach for a cigarette. When we're celebrating, when we're sad, when we're anxious, when we're bored, after a meal, after completion of a task. We have convinced our subconscious that smoking somehow makes a difference. So, ......while you we're vaping, you were still going through the motions of smoking & may account for your feeling like it has only been 8 days. It gets better...hang in there.

Good morning Candice☕️☕️ And congrats for 5 weeks smoke free👏👏👏 a lot of people wean slowly off of nicotine. If cold turkey doesn't work for ya, you could always try vaping at a lower dose of nicotine slowly but surely .. I went cold turkey😡Grrr lol My withdrawals were ridiculous ... the important thing is.... you're off the deadly cigarettes😊👍🏻xx

My withdrawal isn't too bad. It's more of an irritant, that I can say get lost too. However, when having a craving, I probably would bite your head off and say something completely different lol

I was thinking earlier myself. The physical addiction, done, dusted, over. So I am not 34 days, actually 36 lol over the nicotine, and onto the health benefits. But.... 8 days into the mentally giving up. So, I need to assure myself, I am over the nicotine, I don't need that, I just now need to deal with the emotional/mental side of my addiction. Wow. So nice and easy then lol

Hi Candice ,

Ya after the 4 th month, my psychological dependence ran its course. It felt great! I'll always remember that sense of freedom💃🏿

Hi candice really well done on 36 days you're doing fab👍 and don't think that you are on day 8 cause you're not you have not inhaled 4000 toxins for 36days so be really proud of yourself and all you now have to deal with is the habit not the addiction so mix up your routine and confuse the hell out of the ecig and you are a winner. Well done 😄😄

I like that. Confuse the helll out of it lol well, routine is definitely mixed up, as on holiday ha! All I need to do is remind myself I have beaten the addiction, I am now 37 days into that. And I just need to break the habit. 🤔
