Okay well actually it was late last night as I finished my last smoke in the box and I knew I wouldn't have any for the work day ahead so I just decided today is the day I am quitting. Greg and I have been thinking about it and talking but hadn't really made the jump. I think it will be easier for him to stop if he knows I am no longer smoking, he can be quite hard on himself like that. He also smokes far more than I do but has already halved that in the past month from a box a day to a half.
I have some nicorettes and willpower. A migraine helps because I feel too sick to want a smoke...
Wish us luck. The first 3 days are the hardest, right?

Quitting is the best thing you and Greg can do for yourselves and each other, the decision alone is a huge first step. Dig that willpower and determination, plus a bit of stubbornness too out that we all thought we didn't have, but really we doπͺ.
Also try to think of all the positives that quitting is doing for you, write a list and go back to this when you need to. Have a read of all the pinned posts and ask any questions you like!, we've all been where you are now... admin and members are all ex smokers and still on their journey, we'll support you all the wayπ.
Also if the gum isn't helping you, please look at other NRT options instead of falling back on those nasty cigs.
I'll get you a badge and put your name on the wall of winners. Good luck and hope your migraine goes soon!!.
The first three days I found tough. Then it got easier. About two weeks in it felt aweful. It was the weekend. I wanted to smoke so badly I felt sick. I stayed strong and it's been 19 days. I find weekends to be challenging. I'm trying to do some swimming to help. Stay strong and good luck!
Hi Jade, you and Greg have decided to quit and it will be the best thing you ever do in your lives..... think of all the positive things about giving up smoking, all the money you will save because it soon mounts up, the money you would normally spend on a packet of ciggies put in a jar , and enjoy the benefits
