The cravings are back and strong as ever, 6 weeks into my quit. Don't know how to replace it, nor how to continue as I just don't have a support system that gets me or is even in my life for sincere reasons. Please help

Please just keep going I too am finding it hard right now but try and distract myself are you using anything to help you ? Have you tried inhalator or the nicotine gum anything will be better than going back to smoking you have done so well getting to 6 weeks would be such a shame to spoil it now we are all here to help each other so use us to help you stay smoke free

Cales xx

I can relate to this. Four weeks for me and seems to be getting harder, more cravings . Have you tried vaping? That's what I'm doing and it does help. I found the patches help as well. Hang in there. Vent away if you want :-)

Really brisk walks round the block... anywhere, breath hard and get your heart beating. Your body is missing all the inhaling and a good walk can really help. I took myself off for many late night walks, had time for me at the same time as getting a good lungful of fresh air.

Try it, it beats smoking by miles😊

Try to keep strong DZRM the cravings will ease off. Try some of the breathing exercises in the pinned posts and drink plenty of water 💦

Hi you do have a support system - us. Ok it's only online but it's far better than nothing. I don't have a support network either except here and it's been enough to help me (virtually) give up and stay clean.

Having said that I am around 6 weeks now with the patches and inhaler and am feeling cravings again. They are not too bad though so am just persevering and hoping they go away. Maybe it's a 6 week hitch? I was hoping they would have gone by now but it seems not..

What is helping me is keep reminding myself of the reasons why I want to stop - mild copd, bad cough, money etc. I keep telling myself I don't want to be a smoker anymore and I don't. I am feeling so much healthier now and rarely cough and can walk up hills without all that puffing and panting. Hang on and you will get there. x

You got it Lil....it's remembering WHY you're doing this. My list has over 40 entries in the back of my journal and that's another great support-a journal. Free writing, without editing, can be incredibly cathartic especially while you're going through the early stages. Stay strong and well, much love Poll x

Thanks everyone, hard to get out of that particular coping mechanism, there have got to be other things to pick up that are just as easy and effective at managing stress (without causing harm to my body). Just have not found something yet. I don't think I need patches because the nicotine is far gone from my system, have mixed feelings about vaping as I don't want to become addicted to that and they have mixed messages regarding their true effect on health. Argh.
