Hi there Z; Feeling anxious and depressed is very common when you first quit. There is a section on this under the pinned posts. Try to keep busy, change your routine. Exercise , and drink plenty of water.

Try to be patient as these feelings will go. If after about 2 weeks in with your quit, if you dont feel any better, then a visit to your doctor may help. You may need a pick me up just to get you back on track.

Sometimes smoking can mask other problems so getting checked out doesn`t harm.

Hi Z. First and foremost, 21 days smoke free is fantastic. Be proud of yourself. As to the depression and the crying, as Jillygirl said - it is quite common when quitting smoking. I was constantly tearful for a full month when I started my Quit and I still get tearful occasionally now for no apparent reason. But the benefits of quitting more than make up for the tearfulness and it happens less and less. Stay strong and bear with it. It will get better.

Hello😊

You're doing great. Try not to fight how you're feeling and perhaps go with it, maybe accept it a little?. Obviously if it's just getting worse then please visit your Doctor but if you don't feel it's come to that yet then I suggest taking things gently.

Take a walk somewhere quiet if you can, listen to the birds singing and wind in the trees.... it really can be a good tonic. Also, sleep. I found I slept loads more than usual in the first couple of months, I have two kids so it was hard to do, but I made some time for me and rested/slept. A good book or a relaxing bath are another couple of things that may help.

I hope you start to feel better soon, 21 days is amazing and it will get easier as time goes by. Let us know how you get on.😊

Frostie's spot on in her reply. Try not to resist what you're feeling -what you resist persists- just go with it because what's happening is you're actually FEEEEELING stuff instead of stuffing it with a smoke screen. Your feelings are coming to the surface and it can feel a little overwhelming I know. I was crying all over the place-a bit embarrassing in Tescos but hey ho!! You're finally being real Z ......hey, where did you get your pseudonym from?!!! I'm fascinated! Much love Poll x
