Well we have all made it through another day without smoking. Throat a bit sore and a bit of a cough tonight but can put up with that , still going cold turkey although no NRT is probably the reason i am eating like pacman. I might be a non smoker but if i don't stop eating i'm going to look like mr blobby. I crave sweet things is anyone else feeling the same?. Well i'm off to bed to dream of  being willy wonka and owning that factory. well done everyone good night.

Hi j160,Can you let us know your quit date so we can add you to the wall of winners and award you with a badge.

I have to say I smiled when I read your post 😀😀 but, many of us crave sweet treats when we first quit - try replacing it with sugar free options.

I quit cold turkey, and always had a bowl of cut up veggie sticks and fruit salad in the fridge..

Thank you for your reply i am going to try the cut up veggie sticks today as i have put on 2 pound in the last 3 weeks. Oh well it's better than the 460 cigs i would have smoked. My quit date was March 29th.

A few extra pounds is a lot better that the 460 cigarettes 😀😀. I always try to encourage healthy eating as part of the quitting process - as a smoker our metabolism is slightly faster than what it should be..so this is going to return to what is normal for us...so unless we do a little adjusting, weight many increase...STILL...much better than the cigarettes..

A lot of members work on getting there quit in a place where they feel they are ready to tackle any weight gained😀😀 it really does come down to what works for each individual

keep up the great quit you have going there 🍀🍀👍👍

Hi J160,

Craving?? Hows this for craving...I'm on the treadmill at my gym and I look up at the time and the time is 10 min till the supermarket closes...and me's has no ice cream at home... what do you think me does?? lol

Every night after dinner it's half a litre of ice cream topped with chocolate sauce and whatever else suits my fancy..and when that's all gobbled up it leaves me wanting more. I try so hard during the day to not eat any sweets....

xx

Welcome to the club. Well now where do I even start lol the first ten weeks I craved all things fried or sugary. If you handed me a carrot stick or anything remotely healthy during that time it would have been very dangerous 😅😅 I quit cold turkey too. Quitting is the most important task at this stage as if you focus on everything now you will become overwhelmed 💖

Goodmorning J,

Yep, I gained 10 lbs from eating soooo much sugary junk and now I'm in the  process of losing it by trying my best to stay off the sugar... The weight is coming off slowly but surely..

Great quit you have going there👍🏻👏👏👏👏👏

I ate myself sick for a while--just starved all the time--put on 12 lbs--which Im still trying to lose--Im still re-e-e-ea-a-allly enjoying eating--and I said the same thing--I quit smoking but im going to be a tub now--Everyone told me stay with my quit and worry about it later--so I did and I am trying to get rid of it now--It will be ok--It tastes wonderful doesn't it? xx MmeT
