Hello everyone! I am new to this site. I quit smoking on March 11th, 2016. The weekend was very hard and at times I wanted to just give in...but I found this site (read some post) and decided to deal with the withdraw systems as they came. I had a lot of anxiety/panic attacks which makes life difficult but today I feel much better (they usually come at night when I am alone and everything is quiet).

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking, as this truly is best thing you can do for your health.👍😀

Take a read through the pinned posts as there is a lot of info on what to expect an way to ease the symptoms of recovery😀😀

Keep this site nice and close and when you feel like it is a struggle, come online and rant, read, chat etc. acts as a great distraction 😀👏😀

We are a friendly bunch who have all been where you are and understand the struggles😳😏

We have a mantra we use NOPE = Not One Puff Ever .. Tattoo this on your brain..😀😀

Hi Kimberly, welcome to quit support and well done on deciding to quit!

Quitting is no picnic that's for sure but if you get into strife and feel anxious hop on here as there will always be someone about who is either at the same point or will have been where you are do will be able to give some personal hints and tips on how to manage the tough times.

You can do this and we'll be with you all the way.

Welcome Kimberly. Well done on making your decision to quit and to a healthier life. I'm not going to lie it is an emotional roller coaster, but you will get there. Your in the hardest week, but half way through already Yeahh well done to you. You won't regret it hang on in there :) stay strong. When your feeling bad pop on here . I did at 3 weeks into quitting and about to give in . The support I recieved was fantastic, and here I am 3 more weeks later. So please come on here when you feel down, or happy or just for a chat :) we all know what you are going through. I am starting to feel the benefits already :) Kimberley you can do it . We are here for you :) x

You've already had great advice from our lovely quitters 😀

First few weeks can be difficult but hang in there I promise it does get easier 😊

I alwayd suggest to people who are new to the forum to have a read of Allen Carr " The Easyway To Stop Smoking "

It really helped me and others on here in their quit. You can download free online.

Keep going, you can do this 👍

Hi Kim I felt awful when I first quit but it gets easier and easier I'm so glad I found this site to this site has helped me so much good luck and I wish u all the best

Hi Kimberley welcome to quit support. Good decision to stop and well done reaching day four. First week always the hardest. I too recommend Alan Carr book. Ru using any nrt?

I am not using any NRT...although I felt at time that it would make the process easier. I started reading Alan Carr's book and I am on page 31. Thanks for the support. Tonight has been better than the weekend. No panic attacks/anxiety tonight. This site has really helped because others can relate to what I am going through.

I love your attitude of working through the withdrawal symptoms - in the past that's where I would always falter. But I see it as the last ditch approach now by the addiction to keep hold of me. The madness amazes me. The addiction has created those symptoms and then tries to convince me that's why I need it??? Stick to the folks on here, our madness is full of hope, support & care. NOPE
