Hiya Rosie, if you look on the right of this post you'll see related posts and a little bit further down it says pinned posts. At the bottom of pinned posts it says view 13 more, so press that and near the bottom of the list you'll find 3 separate breathing excercises. hope this helps ya find them. I'm on an iPad so it may be different on your device. Good luck, you're doing greatππΌπ
Hi Rosie--welcome to Quit Support--we are all here to help and understand eachother on this journey --Hang in there--you can do this--I get the breathing thing--Four months clean and though I can breathe deep,I breathe the way cigarettes dictated-so kind of relearning a nice, slow, rhythmic breathing- instead of fast and shallow-It just screws you up in so many ways--but I am so glad I have new found freedom from slavery of cigarettes!! Blessings --MmeT
πππ for Rosie and breathing techniques in public
Hi Rosieπ·
I'm a really shallow breather..... When I'm at work, I have to remind myself to slow down my breathing and practice abit of mindfulness.... Deeper breaths ... It's hard
you kno Az--I so get that--Id like to write a book on what this journey is like--Is the truth out there anywhere?? That it is a loooong journey and all the intricacies and fears you must overcome? I hate to give poison ANY kind of credit--but it truly is an unbelievably powerful and addictive substance--I have a healthy fear(bordering on sheer terror) of it now--This love affair is OVER--Hate it ,hate it and it hates me--or it wouldn't have tried to kill me--Im so done!!!!!!! xxx MmeT
That's also on my mind. I read through some posts and they say identify it as a thing that's not you. I find myself getting angry with "it" and treating it like a person.....no-one is going to control me.....it's working its giving me so much will power.
Oh and I'm feeling great today a week I made it.....took a while for me to motivate myself but now I'm here I'm not stopping. How are you today? Am I right in saying I read a post that you had copd? No doubt you are reaping the benefits well done and keep going your life is worth it x
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Rosie--a week is a long time--don't look back--go forward now and get in week 2--you should be feeling some benefits--I remember those days so well---wasnt so long ago--Hang in there this weeknd--I find I struggle a little on weeknds--I just get tunnel vision and "want one" Your gonna be ok--I have faith in you my girl Keep going--impress yourself and make us rejoice for you XX MmeT
No COPD here as far as I know--I did pass breathing tests--right before I quit and they were fine--At first I thought Heh heh now I can keep smoking Im fine -they are full of s----t then I thought Hey Foo--get out now while the getting is good--I do have some breathing problems but think Im still getting used to being a normal breather--I don't know if you can have COPD and still breathe deep like you have to on tests--Im going to check that out--I do wheeze sometimes--Hope you are fine.. Continue fighting the good fight--Im with ya xxx MmeT
