I have seen the docotr and nurse, hve got my patches and spray, my quit date is 22nd December and have only had 5 ciggy's today so am proud of myself. My reason is because I recently had Pnuemonia and am still getting over it. Any tips or advice welcome plz

Hi Kevin, welcome to the quit support forum. See ur well prepared in advance better than me I saw the nurse after I'd decided to quit.

Patches and spray will help u. I using patches and chewing gum.

The only other thing I'd recommend I'd look up the Allen Carr easyway to quit smoking book and read through it before u give up. It tells u not to use NRT but that's up to u. I do. I just think throw everything uv got at it. U can get the book free online as a PDF.

Keep checking out the forum and get to know everyone.

Good luck. 😀

Hi kevin0800, its lovely to meet you :) and a big warm welcome to our lovely quit support community :) :)

A massive well done to you Kevin for making that vital decision to quit the smokes :) :) I would advise you to make a list of the WHY's you want to quit smoking :) then if you get tempted, just bring that list out and read it :) Cutting down is an excellent way to start your quit journey :) and am loving it pal :)

If you have a look to the right of your post, you will see '' Pinned Posts & Topics '' have a look through them, cos there's loads fo help and advice their :)

Patches, try to keep them to the upper part of your body, cos they work best their :) :)

Quickmist mouth spray, this to is another excellent form of NRT :) BUT, it can cause hiccups :o :D :D Give it a couple of days and if you still get the hiccups, then try spraying it on the back of your hand, then just lick it off :) Oooooor, spray it onto a clean finger end, not one you've just picked your nose with :P :D :D :D and just dab it on your upper gum, this way it will last longer :) :)

Kevin, please keep intouch with us :) and if you need help or just want a chat, then please feel free to do so :)

Good luck for the 22nd, cos we are all routing for ya's :)

Pete :)
