Hi ya Costadelcol, a big WHOOOOOOOOPY DHOOOOOOOOPY DOOOOOOOOO pal, you've only gone and done it and quit the flippin stinky fags :) :)

Col, if you feel you need a bit of help in the early stages of your quit journey, then you get some :) Have a think Col, do you miss the hand to mouth thing of smoking :o if so, then I would recommend the e-cig or the inhalator :) If not, then go for the gum or lozenges, then just have them as and when you need them :)

Day 3 now then Col, does this mean your quit date was 31st Oct :o :)

Have a look through the Pinned Posts and the Topics to the right of your post, cos there's some great info on there :)

NOPE, Not One puff Ever :) :)

Pete :)

Hiya Costa and a big warm welcome to quit support😊

Good to see you've got a sense of humour as man oh man, you're gonna need it😂

Day 3 of cold turkey, congratulations and well done👏🏼

If you can hold on for another few days, you'll be over the worst as any of the cold turkey quitters will tell you, it's hard as everything hits you at once😩

Need a little help then our lovely admin Monky has outlined them for ya👍🏼

Whatever you decide to do, we are here to help you. Lots of friendly people who know exactly what you're going through. Remember our motto, NOPE not one puff ever and good luck🍀😊x

Welcome aboard!!!!! Yup.. early days of cold turkey withdrawal sure can be .. well .. indescribable!

In theory .. I'm all for getting that nicotine out of the system ASAP .. and CT (cold turkey) is the quickest ... but also the most.. well .. you know how THAT feels by now!

In practice, however ... the important thing is to STOP SMOKING , and I cannot fault anyone for using NRT (patches, e-cigs, gum, etc.).

Do what you have to.

Just know that you're not alone and let us know how you're doing!

PS: In the interest of full disclosure -- I used champix/chantix which for me was a slightly "delayed" cold turkey with pharmaceutical assistance. One should definitely consult a GP and follow directions if they go that route. It wasn't easy - but was indeed somewhat easier than straight CT.

For me, a vape stick is useful although some people say it's not unlike actually smoking so it kind of defeats the object. I'm gradually decreasing the amount of nicotine in each bottle of e liquid so eventually, it'll contain none. I find I'm using it less than if I was actually smoking - it's there if things get a bit too much. Patches work well too but the higher nicotine patches can make you feel nauseous. If you've got this far CT, well done - keep going - you'll get through the withdrawal quicker that way. Good luck and NOPE!!

Congrats👏🎉🎉🎉 Costa. I had the worst physical symptoms for weeks....... Nausea.....achy muscles........headaches........spaced out.......couldn't focus...... Insomnia and EXHAUSTION. I Totally get what you're going through. You picked. A good support system here. I take one hour at a time just to not light up.....sometimes 5 hours at a time

Keep up the good work!!!!!!! It gets better and easier

Congratulations costa and a big warm welcome to quit support.

The others have given you some good advice. I went cod turkey after 40 years and for me, getting through the first week was tough. During that week i kept telling myself, I can do this and I will do this. I thought about what i was going to do with the extra money. Whenever the thoughts came in " I so need a smoke" I would argue with my self and question why i needed one. Couldn't really find and answer. It was a couple of weeks after i quit that i came across this wonderful site and learnt the NOPE Not one puff ever..and used that all the time. 16 months later, all is going well.

Cold turkey can take a lot of energy, but for me, I am so glad i made it. Having the support from the members here helped me tremendously. Looking back, i think i would have been afraid to face everyone if i fell off, yet..i have seen it time after time, we are not here to judge an people fall off..we call that a practice run :) :)

You do what you feel will be the best for you :) :)
