Hello everyone;, thanks for being there! I'm on day 8 of quitting and hanging in there -- a day at a time; sometimes a minute at a time!

Hi wiilc and a big welcome to quit support.

Congratulations on your 8 day quit, that is a fantastic effort :) :)

I think all of us have had to use all our strength to get through one minute at a time in those early days :) :)

take a read of the info under the topic heading to the right of the screen, this will provide you with lots of information to help you on your journey.

If you have any questions, please just ask as we are all here to support you any way we can

Can you let us know your actual quit date so we can add you to the wall of winners.

Keep up the great quit you have going there

Thanks for your reply(s) to my first post. My quit date is August 4th.

The constant anxiety, frequent mood swings and difficulty concentrating are more worrisome to me than any "cravings". I learned the "one day at a time" approach a number of years ago, recovering from alcohol dependence.

Recovery from any addiction if very, very hard to do on your own (and I'm somewhat of a loner) -- So, I am very appreciative to folks like you who take the time to share their experience, strength, and hope.

We used to say: "First it gets different, then it gets better."

Really like that will, first it gets different, then it gets better👍👍 so I hope it gets better soon and unfortunately your side effects are very common but I can tell you they will pass. We are happy to share our experiences with you coz together is always better😊x

Hi willc,

Today is my 45 day of quitting. I Just want to tell you that you are undergoing the worst days of quitting but you just have to tell yourself that 7 more days left and you will feel nothing of those bad feelings you are feeling today. To me it is 2 weeks that you have to endure. After that it is getting better and better and after 3 weeks you will feel practically released. :)
