Hi Eve and a big warm welcome to quit support :) :)

Congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking as this is certainly the best thing that you can do for your own health and wellbeing.

What method are using for quitting, cold turkey or are you using some NRT to help you?

Take a read of some of the info under the topic headings as there is a wealth of information on what to expect as part of the quitting process :) :)

We do have a great support network here so if you have any questions or just need to vent or have a chat, you are most welcome to join in.

We have a lot of new members all helping each other so i am sure that you will be made feel very welcome by them.

All the best on your quit journey and keep us posted in how your doing

Good luck eve1... I'm on day five... No patches or ecigs just plain old STOP! I think I should have written down (as advised by all these lovely people on here) in BIG BOLD colours, the reasons why I want to NOT smoke. The reason why I HATE smoking!! Those reasons fade a little so go write them down!! I'm going to do it now! Practice what I preach! :)) stay strong and really rooting for you Eve1 well done you!!

hi eve well done on making that first step, done know what your using to help you or if your cold turkey. but I felt at beginning its what do with your hands. I found that holding something that could imitate a cigarette, like a pen or something helped a lot. plus remembering when you do get a craving it does only last a couple mins. just do something for that min or 2 till passes. plus try avoid situations where you would normally have a cig. you will get lots support on here.

Welcome Eve 😀

Well done on your decision to quit 🎉🎉

You've already had some great advice so can't really add much cept if you can read Allen Carr's easy way to stop smoking ( you can download it free online) it might help you with your quit. Not everyone's cup of tea but it helped me 😀

Good luck 🍀🍀🍀

Hiya Eve and welcome to quit support😊

Lots of good advice from our lovely members already. Stay positive and believe in yourself. Keep lots of fruit handy to snack on and plenty of water to flush out the toxins from all those chemicals in cigs. Keep busy and distract yourself as much as possible as the cravings will pass. Good luck😊x
