Well i have made it to day 19 and was feeling great but now have a blooming irritating cough - blocked nose and dont know if it is giving up smoking or cold or hayfever -- just know it is stressing me out big time just as the cravings are subsiding and very few and far between any words or reassurance will be gratefully received xxx
Day 19: Well i have made it to day 19 and was... - Quit Support
Day 19
Hi Shazbog,
Sorry to hear that you not feeling to good BUT....Well done on getting through to 19 days ..that is sensational and you should be feeling very proud of yourself
Many people suffer with flu like symptoms when the quit smoking, so what you are experiencing is perfectly normal Like all other symptoms of our bodies adjusting to being smoke free, they don't last for long
Keep up the great quit you have going
Well done on 19 days smoke free😀
What you are feeling is normal at this stage, it is your body getting rid of all the muck that we put in it smoking.
Glad that the cravings are easing☺ but take care as they will hit you hard now and then.
Have a great day
Debby xx
Hi shazbog, Congrats on your 2 weeks quit.
The symptoms you are experiencing are quite common, I found I had a constant runny nose after quitting the cigaretts, couldn't go out without a supply of tissues, still get bouts of it even now.
Stay Strong, good Health and Wealth coming your way,
Well done.
No matter where you are in your quit it can seem an empty place, like losing a friend.
Well this is a friend that will rob you of money, make you smell, make you cough and make you very very ill. You've said goodbye to him , don't take him back.
I've been on gum for the last 4-5 months, yes I still think about it but my daughter means more to me than wasting money on a white stick that I burn and inhale for 2 two minutes.
I'm no longer a slave to it, planning my day around when and where to smoke and worrying about running out.
If you think about it , you probably spent 10 mins , thinking /planning and smoking. So that's 200 minutes a day or just over 3 hours of a 17 hour day on this horrible habit.
You have your life back, and a richer healthier and longer life to boot!
Remember NOPE. Think not of quitting but you have moved from being a smoker to a non smoker, don't give it any more importance than that.
If I recall the first two weeks were tough but was masked by the excitement of quitting, then the next few months were peppered with all sorts of emotions, but as you put more distance between the last time you smoked , the cravings urges etc. get less and less
Keep going
Jimx
Hiya shazbog and congrats on 19 days😊
Sorry to hear you're not feeling the best but it's pretty normal and will most definitely pass. The quitting process throws up lots of physical and emotional difficulties but hang in there as it will all be worth it. You are doing really well and i suggest you treat yourself to something nice from the money you have saved coz you deserve it😊x
