Hiya Jazz, congratulations on your quit, you're doing great :)

Yep unfortunately it's very hard and we think we're losing a friend, when in actual fact we're not. Think of it as the enemy instead coz that's what it is. Plenty of ups and downs on this journey but your determination is strong, so that's fantastic. Keep going and the enemy will be kicked out for good and you'll feel and look great without those stinky sticks :) :) x

You have to keep going just one day at a time or even one hour at a time.I was a smoker for 38yrs & had some half hearted attempts at quitting but never really wanted to quit enough to not give up at the slightest excuse.I'm quit nearly 18 months now & seldom think about smoking anymore.I still have the odd minute here and there when I think it would be nice to smoke but never that awful craving of those first weeks.I would NEVER consider going back to the dark side & in a few more weeks you won't either.Well done on an awesome quit, stay strong.Hugs H

When I was smoking, I would buy someone a£3 pint if I ran out of cigarettes in the pub Id be so desperate. To burn a little tube of leaves and chemicals for a 2 minute hit. Knowing I would have to do the same in an hour. It was my best friend. How bad is that!

You have been a smoker , now you are not. The cravings will come in waves, but get easier day by day.

If your on nicotine replacement keep it going , that's how Im doing it. I started of on 25mg patch and 4mg gum. 6 weeks later i'm on the occasional 2mg when I feel a bit low or needy.

The gum really does take the edge off the craving.

In 2 months time , you are going to feel much better and you wont be thinking about a little hit of nicotine and filling your lungs with smoke.

Keep going. You will do it.

15 days, Well done.

I know exactly where you are at. I also had smoked for a great number of years finally gave it the heave ho.

It isn't easy, It wasn't my first attempt, I discovered quitsupport and found inspiration and the combined will of so many others in the same situation. I haven't smoked for over two years now. Stay strong, It really can be such a bitch, but stay strong and keep in touch with the quitsupport crowd as we have all fought or are fighting the for the same goal.

Dave :)
