2 week smoke free
Hey Muffin Woohoooo for 2 weeks, <does little dance>
Half way through your first month, that is brilliant hun, onwards and upwards x
YAY you Muffinman, HUGE HUGE achievement so pat yourself on the back well and truly. You're doing really well managing the hardest bit (IMHO) of the quit.Did you go cold turkey or are you using NRT? Plenty of advice and help on here either way. Keep going my friend, 2 short weeks more and you'll have your first month. Hugs Hx
Thx guys.. I just turned 30 this year and had smoked for 19 years.. I had put a lot of thought into quitting over the years but never actually tried.. It was always tomorrow, "Ill take on that battle tomorrow" ect... In the last 5 years I've noticed my energy levels go down big time,I tried ecigs a year ago but they just gave me access to nicotine all day long instead if just at break time.. Back to smoke.. Now one year later... head aches, chest pain on a regular basis, all this caused stress and in turn I smoked more "FML".. Finally I gave up on the addiction and said the withdrawals can't possible be as bad as what I'm feeling right now! I got paid a couple days later and picked up the patch level 1.. My friend had used it to quit in January so this was it.. May 22 started work at 12:30 and as usual I had a smoke before going in.. I put on a 1/2 patch that day. A 1/2 patch day2 at 12:00 noon, A 1/2 patch day 3 12:00 noon.. Day 4 I said no more patch and tried to go with out.. "Almost stabbed someone at work" luckily I brought a patch and put on a 1/4 piece on at 5pm ish.. Day 5 1/4 patch at 4pm..day 6 I said no more patch and was just fine I had beaten the habit and was now on to the addiction.. At this point I knew I had won.. In fact I was starting to notice the deference in how I was feeling everyday, happier, more energy, no headaches, minimal chest pains.. And it was all over for nicotine.. Took day 7,8 off work and when I had a craving I just used breathing techniques and above all stayed away from the store.. Day 9 was day 3 of no nicotine and I returned to work..there was no turning back now right and now I'm 14 days no smokes and 7 days no nicotine.. Feel like a million dollars.. CANT BELIEVE I WAITED SO LONG.. The worst part of the withdrawals is the anticipation of waiting for some awful feeling or something to happen that u can say is withdrawals.. It's lead me to believe that it's really all in our heads.. Quitting is as difficult as we make.. No more..
You are very determined! And doing Wonderful! Fantastic job! Don't give up,we are thinking of you....I'm 14 days now, but needed my e-cig, good for you....
I was starting to lose my voice....It is slowly improving after 25 years smoking...
Hi Terry, your half way there on the 1st month already it doesn't matter how you do it, the important thing is you're doing it, so well done x
Thanks Briarwood,
I love my e-cig, for now,....love the name' Briarwood', should call myself 'Driftwood' just rolling along with the tide....
My daughter's graduation, the huge tent covering 3,000 of us started to collapse at McGill, .....people started to panic...thunder and rain pouring in buckets...winds
blowing....I was sitting there puffing smoke rings, very calm, like the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland.......now, take away my e-cig........and I would have been running in circles, like everyone else.....I'm no Hero......Hee!Hee!
Good for you, hope everyone was ok and you enjoyed your Daughter's graduation x
Thx TerryOR
Turns out it takes a lot of effort to smoke.. We go out of our way to do this thing that kills us slowly.. Not smoking is easy lol, that's a lot of energy I'm not wasting.. Funny way of looking at it.. I'm sure we all have are own way to get er done.. It seems that we all slowly brain wash our selves into accepting this dirty habit into our lives and the same in required to be rid of it lol...
Well if I joined my friends, I'd wash my hair, gargle, take mints, cover myself in cologne......they hated to see me smoke ( we lost my dad and sister, smokers ) so I had to hide it.......they would say,
"phew, YOU SMELL LIKE CIGARETTES !!! " but I felt I HAD to have them, to survive !!!
Congrats muffinman, you are one very strong person and I'm delighted for ya, well done and keep up the good work x
