Hi Julie, welcome to our forum. It's fair to say that the first few days of a quit attempt are the most challenging, just hang on in and take it a day at a time.

Have a look at Jillygirls post in the 'hints and tips' section. She gives some really good advice on overcoming cravings.

It's really great that you and your partner are both quitting together, you can help each other to stick with it when it gets tough.

There is lots of practical advice on here, have a look through the categories on the right of the screen.

You have come to the right place for support. Stick with it Julie, you can do it.

Aup Julie, welcome to this lovely quit smoking site :) like Eye has said, there is loads of help and advice on here, if you cant find what you are looking for, then just ask :) and somebody will guide you there.

Hmmmm as for mood swings, its not only you gal, I think we all get them in one form or another and they do go :) If your other half starts to argue with you, just count to 10 then flippin bash him :D :D :D

Julie, you and your other half are going through the worst stage at the moment :( I tell you from experience, it will get easier for you both, talk to each other, find out when the worse times are !! and try to work out how to over come them together :)

Most importantly, stay positive on your quit, work at it, and all your hard work will get paid off with much better health and loads a flippin money :) :)

Speak soon, Pete :) x

Hi Julie, welcome aboard :-)

Glad to hear that your day got easier and I hope you managed to come to some sort of agreement on who was going to do the washing up :-/ If things get too bad then maybe waving your arms madly in the air to volunteer to do the dishes would be a great distraction :-)

Remember for every craving that you overcome will mean you are building up more strength to help the next craving pass.

Well done to you on making one of the best decisions to improve your health :-)
