Morning everyone, cloudy in Derbyshire. Not been on for a while as after stopping for nearly three months had a relapse big style and have been back on 20 a day for the last week. I don't think it helped that during this time I was unable to get on this site and it was reading the posts previously that had kept me going in bad moments, but shouldn't make excuses for my failing. Can't remember the number of times I have tried before but I am going to have another go. The best way for me is to cut down gradually and then stop, so today I am going to limit myself to 15 and we will see how itgoes. Take care everyone. Sue c x

Hey Sue, dont beat yourself up about it gal, I too have tried umpteen times to quit, we will do it, and it sounds like you are getting ready for another go at it
Just wondered if you had seen Emjay's blog about relapsing
Good luck Sue, and like Jillygirl has said, you come on here and flippin moan if you want to gal, speak soon.
Good morning Sue, Lovely to see you open the daily chat. Bit of sun and cloud here in Yorkshire, but doesn't look dull and grey , may be the sun is working its way down to Derbyshire now.
Simba, don't get too down hearted, at least you pick yourself up and start again. It takes a lot of guts to admit you started again. Best come on site and shout at us lot. we don't mind ,it really does help. You stay strong.
Thanks Jillygirl, the support that everyone gives helps a lot. It was unfortunate that due to starting back to work I couldn't find time to come on the site, but I am going to make sure that I find the time. I am retiring in 5 weeks so that will make it a lot easier. Many thanks. Sue c x PS love all your pictures and jokes.
Well its lovely and sunny here in my part of Derbyshire Its lovely to see you open up GrannySue Rite am off to get dins cooked, so see you all in a bit
I'm sure you'll kick the piggies out the door for good, a lot of us have relapsed, as i'm sure ypu know. Starting your quit journey again is great and your not letting it get to you too much.
As Emjay would say, see what it was that got you started again then put a strategy in place that will help you the next time.
I'm sorry you were unable to get on here, hopefully that's you on for good now, and we'll all help you.
Take care and keep going strong, you can do this x
Thanks Sue, all I can do is keep trying. Hopefully when I retire in 5 weeks it will be a lot easier, I will keep coming on the site, it was lack of time that stopped me coming on the site having started back to work. I will make sure that I make time to come on as it does give me the incentive I need. Everyone is so helpful and supportive. Have a lovely evening. Sue c x
That you for the support I am sure that I can cut down and stop again which I did with all your support last time. Hope everyone has a lovely day. Take care and will keep you informed and moan to you if I fail!! Sue c x
Good morning everyone. I'm surprised you're all up and about so early - I thought it was only Jilly and I (and a few others of a "certain age") that couldn't sleep in.
Suec, I was wondering where you'd disappeared to - like the others said, come back on here and we'll all help you out. Don't beat yourself up about it cos you have had a bit of a mega-year so far - and we're not even half way through it yet! You'll do it.
Thanks Andi, yes my diagnosis was a shock and then there was all the treatment, it was something that you never think about but hopefully things are now on the up. I am retiring in 5 weeks and looking forward to many years of relaxation. I intend to keep coming on the site as you are all so supportive. Many thanks Sue c x
Well, it's very grey on the south coast and even though they forecast the rain to stay in Cornwall and maybe Devon it is trying to rain here.
Went out to test my ankle this morning and it seemed to go okay so back on track with running but will just keep it easier for another couple of weeks.
I've sent the sun down to you Jillygirl, hope you get it soon
Pete why are you starting your dins this early, I don't do mine for a few hours yet, is it so you can get in your garden and enjoy the lovely weather, I'd do the same if i had a garden
Hope you have the sun as well Andi there's nothing better than a lovely warm sunny day
It's a sunny father's day here, and I've given him some chocs already, son just phoning his dad and the rest of grown-up kids and partners coming to eat later. (Best go get some food in!)
Suec it is great that you're back. I am struggling myself now, but am never planning to stop trying. We will do it, you and me both!
There's a good blog on here from last evening about finding you real, deep, most compelling reason to stop. I'm working on that, when the 'red devil' kicks in.
You all sound set for a great Sunday. Breath those great lungfulls of fresh air in, there are some lovely fresh scents on the breeze, an almost balmy summer's day.
Thanks for your support Betts. It is hard isn't it, unfortunately I surcumbed, my husband is still smoking and the cigs were there for the taking. I am sorry that you are struggling, how many days is it? I will find that blog and read it, thank you Sue c x
It's real hard, that's for sure! I am off and on depending on whether I am working on a particula piece of work which I have to finish mid next week now. I really have to find a way of coping better when I am writing and thinking what to write!
So it's 1 step forwards 1 step back. No smoking today, but not sure about tomorrow. I stopped wearing a patch, but still using an inhalator. That's what my SS counsellor recommended last week. Blah! Keep trying though!
Good evening everyone. I just got caught watching the tennis - after the end of the tournament. I haven't watched tennis since I don't know when. All the grunting and groaning and holding the racket with 2 hands put me off it many years ago. They were funny celebrity games and a bit like tennis used to be in the good old days. (Blimey, I sound like a real old codger! )
I play tennis on the Wii and the xbox and Kinect, love it, I can play for ages. Just been out on a bike ride tho to take my dad his pressie, it was a lovely evening for cycling
I've just remembered that I didn't sleep too well last night so think I might be having an early one tonight.
I took my next door neighbour out for a drive this afternoon. We didn't know where to go and ended up at Lulworth Cove. Haven't been there for a few years and whilst there the sun popped out so I had to have an ice cream.

Aup Andi,, I havnt bin in my greenhouse all day, cos ave bin servicing my van, ready for its MOT on Tuesday, so there see
Nite nite everybody, who's gone to bed, for those who havnt gone to bed yet, what you flippin messin at, get up that wooden hill now, and get some shuteye, OK
I hope you all have a lovely nights sleep, and wake up tomorrow refreshed and ready for anything that nic might chuck at you
Hi Betts, yes I've had a good day today. Actually did some cleaning and stuff this morning and have a nice shiny house now, spent some tine this afternoon with my new baby grand-daughter and went on a bike ride this evening to take my dad his fathers day pressie. How about you?
I cooked an old fashioned Sunday dinner for the first time in ages, didn't burn anything, just what my husband likes. He's a goodun, and deserved a day! Kids came around and it was nice. Took all day though, so I think it's best to keep it for special occasions
God knows how I used to manage it most Sundays when the kids were little! Haven't got the energy for too much of that now
You've got the energy though, cleaning, granddaughter, dad's AND a bikeride!!
I think it's nervous energy from trying not to think about smoking. I wouldn't mind but I wouldn't dream of going buying ciggies, would still quite like one tho. That and a website I found called flylady, it's brill, I'll have a house clear of clutter in no time.
And you're right. It is really only possible for me to keep off cigs by gadding about and being busy, esp the gadding about. I can't sit too long without it coming to mind. So glad I,ve got the inhalator to chew.
Now, gonna read and go to bed, t'other way round. So I'll wish you a good night, and sweet dreams too, sin x
