Good afternoon everyone.

Well I did come on and post this morning but I don't know where that got to! :o I fear gremlins have been afoot today. :(

I hope you've all managed to stay smoke free today and got out in that lovely fresh air while it's still nice weather. :)

Emjay, I hope you enjoy your christening, see you later. :)

Hi its been a beeeeutiful day today apart from my dog nearly getting run over, thank god the driver had the wit to be able to stop in time! Dog has never ever run away before, she is 15 and getting past her sell by date. Stopped given some support by some lovely passers by, had a big inhale of the inhalator and carried on walking. No cigarette involved whoopie doo. x

Oooh, summers back. Did 20 mile bike ride this morning but my knees are hurting now from big hills. Last two days have managed with just 2 lozenges and my e-cig. Today have had 3 lozenges up to now but hopefully no more. I had good reason for my third lozenge. Didn't sleep too good last night though, it's like stopping smoking all over again, even had a dream - very unusual for me. Glad your dog is OK Friezfriend, bet your heart was in your mouth for a minute there. Hope your Christening went well EmJay, it was a lovely day for it.

in reply to jillygirl

:D I'd need more than a cuppa after cycling up that M62 :)

Glad to hear you've survived what's been thrown at you today Friez and Sin. :)

This morning started with fog and then the blue sky was starting to come through but I don't know where it went. It's been grey all day down south but very mild and not windy at all - in fact it's been warmer out than in today. So nice that I had to get out on my bike this afternoon - did nearly 17 miles, but no hills today. ;-)

in reply to andi22

It's like that here when ever it's cloudy its always warmer outside than in. Was so cold in here yesterday I even contemplated going sitting outside in the garden where it would have been warmer. Today was lovely though, bit cloudy around lunchtime but that's OK cos that was when I was hill climbing. Be very hard pressed to ride around here for 17 miles without any hills, though Blackpool was good last Saturday as that is flat along the seafront. Just been watching Mark Cavendish on ITV4 talking about cycling - ha what else would he be talking about. He's apparently fanatically tidy :o won't invite him round to my house then.

Hiya, I didn't see that but he annoys me when he's interviewed cos he looks around and anywhere but at the camera so I always wonder what he's trying to hide. :o

He he, I'm watching a programme about knitting at the mo. :o :D :D

in reply to andi22

Knitting. OMG. I only knitted once, a knitted a cardigan for my daughter. Took me the whole nine months I was pregnant. She got good use out of it though. I only threw it out 12 months ago when we had a clear out of the loft.

Yeah I didn't really warm to him, I thought he was a bit boring to be honest, didn't really come across as Mr personality. And his physio eeeeek, I think he had the masseuse (is that how you spell it) you went to, pulling joints around and clicking shoulders and knees uggh, was scary.

My guy calls himself a "sports massage therapist". He hasn't done pulling and clicking with me, just lots of what I might call "elbow digging"! :D :D

I used to do a bit of knitting. My problem was I'd get bored before I finished whatever it as I was making at the time. My biggest problem was sewing it up after - one side of a seam was always longer than the other. :o :D :D

Aww that's cute, is that Shaun the Sheep

in reply to andi22

haha, I think someone else at work sewed it all together for me, I'm even worse at sewing than I am at knitting.

Wonder where Pete has disappeared to. Maybe that wooden hill has got woodworm and now he can't get back down :o

Don't they make one yet that lasts longer than 48 hours? :o :D :D

Well, even though I've already had a cake today from the pound bakery, I'm going to make a nice cup of tea and have another cake from the reduced shelves of Asda. Oh well am sure I burned them all off earlier, well maybe not the cake I'm about to eat but oh never mind, you have to live a little sometimes.

My nice new bike is now being packed up ready for its journey back to Rutland. It's not been right since new and I'm not paying all that out for a new bike when the bloody chain keeps flying off. Looks like its back to the old jalopy this week, which is really annoying since it looks like being nice weather all week. Good job I didn't get round to selling it on ebay yet. I've just looked up the meaning of the word Jalopy and I think that's a bit unfair to call my old bike names like that. It's been very faithful and has done a lot of miles AND held on to its chain throughout. Anyway now for that cake.

Sorry jalopy refers to cars and motor bikes not cycles. :P

andi22 in reply to

Oh, that's a shame, I didn't know you were having problems in the chain department. :(

I was really pleased not to have put any weight on while away and am trying to get back into the fitness pdq now as I still need/want to lose about another half a stone and have 2 months to do it in. I'm sure my cycling is helping greatly with that. I went for a run this morning but my blisters started at 20 minutes in as usual. I thought I'd solved that problem and having a couple of weeks rest would help. I was obviously wrong on that score then. :o

in reply to andi22

cheap and nasty components I think is the problem with the chain. That's no good getting blisters. I think cycling is really good for calorie burning and keeping your legs toned. Just don't think eating all the calories burned in cakes is a good idea.

I suppose one's okay, especially if it's home-made. You know that it's not full of crap then. We all need a treat now and then. ;-) :D :D

Well, my eyes are drooping now so I'll wish you nite nite and hope you sleep well. See you tomorrow. :) xxx
