So, as you will have gathered, my Dad, Georgepa is in the possession of a mobility scooter which he finds great fun.......I DO NOT!!!!
Having tried to wheelie the bloody thing, then frighten the living daylights out of me by alarmingly fast figures of eight in the middle of the road - yesterday he decided to attempt the ramp in the skate park!!!!
Needless to say I'm getting greyer by the day & am quite likely to hide the battery charger before my heart gives out!
All I can say is "Thank god he's having some fun !"
I couldn't bear to watch though. Did he always like to scare you ?

Oh Kate and George, that picture has to be the best ever posted! You are both very quickly getting to the top of the pile, on how to get through adversity, not that George needed very far to get there. With all that is going on in your lives, to still be able to smile, laugh and have a bit of fun, is a huge credit to your Mum, she bought you up, knowing that life was for living, no matter what was going on around you. Well done, to her and to you two, you certainly have bought a bit of laughter in to all our homes today. Thank you!

Definately buy him a helmet!! My Billy only turned to wave to a friend, he was going across a slope, so the whole thing tipped over and he ended up with 3 stitches in his head, and we had no choice but to get the ambulance as with his condition , his whole body went rigid and we didn't know what he'd done. He always wore the helmet without question. Think he scared himself as much as us. But so good to see someone who's been dealt a bum deal enjoying the little things in life.xx

We got a mobility scooter couple of years ago, the brand was called the Rascal so we have always called it the Rascal rather than mob scooter. So for 18 moths I shared Facebook posts and WhatsApp family message photos of hubby out on the Rascal when a niece finally asked why I called her uncle a Rascal implying a derogatory term!! Made R laugh so much Avery rate event. He is however a driver requiring supervision within peripheral vision he has so far knocked out the library door sensors on 3 occasions!!!
It gives a wonderful freedom instead of being pushed in a chair we can be side by side.

This made me chuckle. A PSP 'sufferer'myself, I also have a mobility scooter which has a maximum speed of 4 miles an hour and I just love leaving people who fuss over me using it way behind as I race along on good flattish paths. Naughty, I know, but great fun and a display of some remaining independence.
My husband would have loved it. Unfortunately, by the time he was diagnosed his ability to steer was very uncertain. Sad.

I love my scooter, especially in the grocery store mine goes faster than the store ones. I speed up any aisle with no one in it then slow as I approach the end of the aisle. really great if you forgot an item and have to go get it. I am on my third of forth scooter now, I forget for sure. I also have a travel model but it is not very comfortable.
Honestly it is a life saver.
My husband is unbelievable on his mobile scooter. He always took chances but one day he was on the scooter in my driveway and had my grandson on his lap flying around. God I was such a spoiler running out Screaming and putting an end to it. He was known around our town for "speeding" sadly now he can't use it as his eyes are so bad. But there was never a dull moment . Xx
Kate - at what stage did ye get the mobility scooter? I'm only a few days into this PSP world and my head is spinning. One moment I'm being practical and thinking what we will need down the line, the next moment I'm crumbling for him....(my Dad)?
