Hernia today gone tomorrow - sorry bad joke .Seems very odd to be on the opposite side of the caring fence . People keep asking if you are alright - very infuriating ! A salutary experience I think .It's the longest time I've had on my own for what seems like eons - bit extreme way to get it but HURRAH ! OUCH!
Operation Georgepa: Hernia today gone... - PSP Association
Operation Georgepa
I always say laughter is the best medicine but don't think that is correct after a hernia op is it.....ouch! It's a shame that during your time of respite from caring, you can't go out and do exciting, energetic things but I do hope the sun shines for you as you recuperate and you can enjoy doing things without interruption.
Take care and wishing you a speedy recovery.

lol jILL
yes -kind of upright.
Hi Georgepa, glad your OK. A bit extreme to get some TLC, but if it works, go for it!!! Enjoy your rest while you can and remember to take your time. You will be useless to your wife, if you rush the healing process. So please take that extra day and ACCEPT all the help on offer and ask for it, if needed!!!
Lots of love

Oh dear Georgepa, you don't stand a chance! All these people telling you what to do! I find pulling the covers up over your head, can work occassionally. So if you are still in bed, hide NOW!

Umph!!!!!!
How are you feeling Georgepa? Are you taking the rest you are meant to be having? Your daughter left us in charge, so one of us as to at least try and nag you! As I am frequently told I am a past master at it, thought it had better be me!!!
Sending you lots of love for a speedy recovery!

Weeeeell kind of doing what I am told- my lovely carer ladies that come in to get Veronica up and put her to bed while I recover constantly nag me , my sister who came to stay has nagged me and my daughter nags me so I am well nagged so whats one more among friends ! I have to say I did have problem as my wife had a massive bowel accident just after the carer had left in the evening on Monday . I didn't know what to do- she was terribly distressed and so I thought just get on with it .Shouldn't have ! felt it afterwards but what can you do . Occupational therapist was in next day and told me I should have phoned the rapid response team and they would have come but we are in a small village in Devon and that could be half an hour away . Anyway I have learned my lesson and will do as I am told ! But its not always easy to have a plan B is it ? Or at least one which works .Anyway thanks for the kind nags much appreciated. Georgepa
