Ever since I was taken to hospital for palpitations and intermittent chest pain a week ago, I have been intermittently responsibly my hands and when I spoke to the cardiologist last week ,he said that my T4 was high and that I was probably over medicated but I doubt they checked my T3 levels. I know that palpitations and shakiness are symptoms of hyperthyroidism and am now really worried. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My hands shake permanently since I was a wee boy, my parents never got it sorted at all...... I passed A1 fit for the RAF back in the 60s..... I’m 76 now and still my hands shake..... I never learnt to do joined up writing because of my shaking hands.
I’m sorry, but I cant give you any advice!
I'm sorry you are worried but apologies I don't understand the condition T3 and T4 so I would say it would be better to speak to your doctor. I do think this would be the safest option as someone on here could possibly give you the wrong advice which wouldn't be good.
I really hope that you get this sorted.
Take care
Hi sobs1962, I'm not sure we are the best community to be giving you advice. I guess you already belong to the Thyroid UK community at HealthUnlocked and that may be more useful to you. But in any case, it's always best to contact a medical professional, like your GP surgery when you are worried. We could only offer guesses, which aren't good enough. Take care and best wishes.
Sorry think I posted on wrong page.
Have you talked to your doctor about hypoglycemia ( low blood sugar)?
Don't know if it could be that, I don't eat much in the day, mostly in evening but have really strong cravings for sweet sugary things and have had for the last 6 months.
When was your last doctor’s appointment?
I had a phone conversation with a doctor from GP surgery on Monday and told him I was concerned I might have B12 deficiency and that might be what was causing my palpitations intermittent chest pain for which I was taken to hospital by ambulance in early hours of Monday morning and my heart rate stayed at around 130 for about 51/2 hours altogether and was a scary experience. They did bloods mainly to check my heart and everything was fine, but I had a phone consultation with a cardiologist on Tuesday and I have an appointment in July to get a 24hour monitor fitted to check my heart. Cardiologist said they checked thyroid bloods (probably only TSH and T4) but seems to think I may be over medicated. GP prescribed me Cyanocobalamin 50mg and I've taken those for the last 4 days. That's all, for now anyway,I won't get a face to face appointment with anyone for at least the next 2 months,so nothing more I can do.
Do you feel okay now?
I'm still having palpitations and shaking of hands but I suppose I have no choice but to wait till I can actually see a doctor hopefully the endocrinologist in a few months and hope things don't go downhill rapidly .
Hi,
If you post on the Heart Issues page you will receive lots of sensible advice from very knowledgeable folk who have all been there. Good Luck.
