You mean alendronic acid - if you look at the Related Posts that have come up now you have posted then there are up to 10 you can have a look at.

It is used quite a lot in oncology to make sure that calcium goes into the bones.

There are a few people on this forum who have had breast cancer and taken alendronic acid or a related drug so I hope they will see your post and reply.

Quite a few other people on the forum have taken it without any problems. Most of us are told to take it because we are on corticosteroid drugs and they can make the bones thinner - that is a bit different from its use in oncology.

Hi Sarah. I had a second mastectomy about 8 years ago with chemo and continuing with letrozole. I was referred to an endocrinologist almost immediately and after various tests he prescribed an Zolondronic acid infusion. I have had three infusions so far and he is recommending another following recent NTX test. I have had no adverse effects at all. Along with the link posted by PRO and the invaluable advice as always I hope this helps. Best wishes

I had 2 long phone conversations with the nurses from Royal Society of Osteoporosis. And watched their video. I too was very nervous and they were very good at helping me decide. I did in the end go with treatment for my bones.

I too had lumpectomy 6 months ago followed by radiotherapy. Was already on Letrozole and both Oncologist and Rheumatologist were very keen about bone health. Already had Zolendonic infusions due to Dexa scan previously. Not had any reaction to infusions in the past. Next one due today! Hope all goes well with you.

I have been on Letrozole for almost 5 years following a Mastectomy for breast cancer. Started pred in March 22 , and alendronic acid weekly. My rheumy has said when I stop Letrozole, which should be soon , I can stop the Alendronic acid. I have had no side effects from the AA at all x
