Well it’s been a while since I posted and what a journey I’ve been on.
I try to keep it brief.
I year ago I was told I’m steroid dependent. I carry and emergency injection kit of cortisone. I hope I never have to use it.
I had a follow up cardiology appointment on January 4th this year. I was told I needed open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve. Quite a shock that was.
June 11 th I had the surgery. Four weeks of real discomfort and awful emotional episodes left me wondering why I agreed to the surgery.
I feel I now have turned a corner. Pain and tears are less and getting out a bit.
The care in the hospital was amazing.
I have a long way to go. The surgery was needed so I am grateful.
I am permanently on 6mg prednisalone and also heart meds . Grateful to be alive.
I follow this group most days. Take care all x

Happy to see that you are up and about. You have had a whole lot to put up with these past years. I sincerely hope that nothing nasty happens to you again. Methinks you have had your share. Take care.
Thank you for sharing your story. I do hope your recovery continues uneventfully and you are soon able to resume some of the activities you enjoy. All the best. 🌺
Well done patrees. So glad the ordeal is behind you now. No wonder you reacted in a perfectly normal way to the trauma and shock. Was it the NHS? they are pretty wonderful when it really matters. Be gentle with yourself as you gradually recover. I am glad you are still here too, for each wonderful new day.🌸🌼🌺
Good to hear you are on the up patrees - all surgery is difficult to recover from, especially at our age, and heart surgery especially so because of the emotional side of it. All the best
That’s some major stuff you’ve gone through. Well done and stay positive. You did the right thing having the surgery so who cares what meds you need now. You’ll be fine. Live life to its fullest 🥰
What a lot you’ve gone through! You’re very brave. Pleased to hear you’re doing so well. The emotions will improve..Take each day at a time. 🌺
