I’ve just discovered I didn’t take yesterday’s dose of 4mg. Last months blood test revealed ESR of 24 and Due to a family member at advanced stage 4 cancer, I am stressed. Any suggestions as to how I can catch up my dose, thank you

How were you doing with both adrenal and PMR/GCS symptoms before you skipped? If it was me and it was yesterday and I felt ok, in the circumstances, I’d carry on as normal but I think it depends on how you are generally. If it was going to be a number of hours before the next dose after the missed one I think I’d possibly take yesterday’s or a half dose. 4mg isn’t much so doing a double in a 24 hour period isn’t going to amount to much in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks snazzy. I’d taken this mornings dose at 9.00 when I discovered yesterday’s pills. I am having a few pains in my upper arms so think I can’t afford the missed pills

Yesterday is gone - so no point I trying to catch up. Had you felt rough yesterday afternoon it might have been worth taking it then, but now...no.

Just make sure you don’t do it again - setting a reminder on phone if you can is easy - or put a note on the fridge!

Thanks for the reply, will put a reminder on my phone, I had got them ready and put them on my worktop to take and something must have distracted me, found them this morning😮

Hi Jo

How did you feel yesterday? I can understand you might want to catch up on your dose but you may get away with it.....

Myself l’d be inclined to take 2mg extra this morning & see how you feel during the day.

There’s no ‘Right’ or ‘Wrong’ Way, it’s very much ‘How You Feel’

Kind Regards

Usually if you didn't notice any effect on the day, you just take the normal dose the next day. If you have any more symptoms than normal you might need a bit more but there is no need to take a double dose or anything like that.

What is your usual ESR? Has it been increasing? That is on the high end of normal but could be due to the stress too so unless you have PMR symptoms they wouldn't normally raise the dose for one result.

5th June ESR was 24 so the same. Thanks for help

That's OK then - as long as it isn't going up

I have missed my dose twice, the first time I swore I would never do it again. The normal advice is to carry on as usual.
