I just finished year three of PMR and am currently reducing 7.5/7. For a month I have had nagging groin pain on one side. Of course, my first thought is always a flare is building, but I don't otherwise feel ill. So this morning I tried firm massage and voila!!! the pain disappeared. I think it must be myofascial pain. PMRPro will come along and explain no doubt. No meds, no Dr visit, just me and I feel much better. My goodness the range of self care we learn 😁 Hope this helps someone today.

Self help for groin pain
I have the same pain
Same circumstances got down to 7 and pain in groin started unfortunately I did increase and now trying to get back down.
Rest and massage works for me as well
catches me most if I twist sideways .
I get groin pain when I am sitting on a hard chair- find I have to get up and go! That is on the left which I know has some OA. In fact, I was getting it on the right when I discovered I had OA there. It has gone on that side since my replacement. So, could be OA.
I'd have wondered about bursitis - but who cares, if you got rid of it that is great!!
I get mysofascial massage and that practitioner said the groin pain came from priformis syndrome. This was after ruling out worse hip OA and treating bursitis. Good that you do your own massage!
