Advice for K2 please

I know there have been posts about K2 but can`t remember what was said. My Rheumy has taken me off Adcal. I take Vit D but wonder what effect large doses of Adcal have had on my arteries.

Where is the best place to get K2 if I decide I need it?

Natto and other fermented veggies I think. But HeronNS is your lady!

Much better to get it this way than pills if you can. I do take a supplement but I also make my own fermented veg to eat like a condiment with most savoury meals.

I get mine in capsule form on line where you will find many suppliers. If that’s a problem for you I’ll be surprised if they don’t keep it in Holland and Barrett. Make sure you also take vitamin D3 and fish oil as they all work together to help you utilise the calcium in your diet - so plenty of dairy too. I doubt if the Adcal has affected your arteries but I wonder why your doctor has taken you off it?

Why did your Rheumy take you off adcal? I just read a piece about how calcium supplements might not be worth the cardiovascular risk.

I was taking four tablets a day and my Rheumy said they were the equivalent of two litres of milk which could clog the arteries.

I get Vit K2 Mk7 from Oxford Vitality.

So do I!

K2 Mk 7 is the one we need to ensure best guidance of the Vit D to bones instead of arteries and Oxford Vitality supplements are very clean with no nasty fillers etc. I get my Vit D from them too - purer than Adcal!
